Point well taken, some people do want an inferior product for superficial reasons And there isn’t much anyone can do about it.@Octavean
why?
for many on this planet, its not about saving a buck, if the product is a better match for their "needs".

not sure if you have kids, but maybe a relative, so go and ask your "6y old niece",
why she doesnt want that blue bike which is bigger/better/faster and cheaper,
that cheaper than the pink small one she wants..
seems many forgot this planet has +7 billion ppl, so "your" not always the benchmark for what products are being offered.
Look, I’m not against something like this existing. I just don’t want it to become virtually the only option on offer which is akin to what has happened in the 4K UHDTV industry. Options are good, otherwise everyone gets the “small pink” one whether they like it or not.
For what it’s worth, I kind of like WebOS and have three LG 4K Smart TV and a couple of LG 4K (dumb) monitors. That doesn’t mean I want to WebOS all the things though,…..Still options are good,…..experimentation is good too,…
