Hi Folks, I have an HD 4650 AGP Gigabyte lying around with 2 ripped resistors so I need help to find the values for them in order to fill the empty spaces, the resistors in question are labeled as R34 and R28 in the pic below:

Here's the pic in high res of the resistors in a working gpu:

I can't figured it out if R28 is marked as 5"o"1, 5"zero"1, 5"."1, or maybe is a 5R1 resistor? and R34 don't have any label, maybe is a 0 ohm resistor? if someone with the same gpu or knowledge about this can help me, please.

PS. according to the AGP 1.5v pinout those pins are TYPEDET# and Reserved? (someone correct me if I'm wrong) what's the function of both?

I don't have such a card, but I have checked my RHD 2600 Pro AGP (Sapphire) and those 2 pins don't look to be connected to anything, however on a GeForce 7600GS AGP (Asus) and Radeon 9200 AGP, the little "resistor" is actually a link (0 resistance), the bigger one on GeForce is a capacitor and on Radeon 9200 is also 0. Perhaps it was 5R1 here...

What's the back story to having two surface mounted resistors missing?

They might indeed just be "links" but be careful, as signalling links they might be "pull up" or "pull down" to the appropriate signal, but still require a resistance in order to limit current flow. If that is the case, I think any similar pull up/pull down links from the board, or similar AGP boards, would be sufficient. YMMV

Are you sure they were manually (or by some failure, which doesn't seem the case) removed from the board? Sometimes the same board may apply to different models which may or not carry components at every marked position.

@wNotyarD , the OP provided two photos… different boards, same serial number start sequence. On one there are resistors. On his, none

I did ask because on his photos of his card, there's no burn marks I can see. Hence I can't say if there ever was any resistor removed by desoldering (if done so, whoever did it cleaned it well) or component failure.
Also, the EAN-13 barcode included in his second photo. If his source is the same I found elsewhere, then the complete sequence would indeed indicate it's absolutely the same product (it would match his), and therefore I stand corrected on my earlier remark.

Anyway, I do agree a bit with @pavle here. The smaller one seems like a 0R link and the bigger one a 5R1 sense resistor.
