My latest tech purchase was this:

1678881273504.png

I got 5 12 Tb IronWolf disks as an add-on.

Will it be worth my money?
Will it eventually resolve a few problems?
Will i need help with it?

I have no idea.

This is the biggest tech purchase in the last 5 years. The last one was my car.

Edit: spelling

Reminds me of when I bought a Killer AX1675x to swap my Aorus X470 G7's Intel 9260 for. It was fun to remove every shield and shroud in the motherboard to access the wireless M.2 slot.
Do I have WiFi 6E at home? No, but I suspected the 9260 was acting up with my router, because any other device I had didn't show issues.

These cards are really nice when it's a M.2. card because they are easy to upgrade along the way to a newer card if needed.

Upgraded my G920 to a G923. Like the extra buttons and the dial I mostly play ATS/ETS so more the merrier and I’m using my N52 Nostromo less on my mod ”side table” on my seat rig. The pedals while nicer with a bet emphasis on a better brake I’m finding it a bit too sensitive compared to the previous but trying to get used too The overall FFB tho is much better, vibration is better etc

^^ I admit having no experience of Noctua air fans for a PC build cases, but'd believe there are better choices in the nearby price range.
Thing is, some sit at their desk with headphones or smth, can't hear the fan blow racket in the room or house.
Trust me I was like you until I got my first Noctua fan. In terms of performance the Original Bad Halloween Candy brown PWM fans have no compare. The new 30CM fans are comparable but Noctua is that good in design and function. Phanteks and Arctic make fans that are close and Cooler Master SickleFlow are pretty quiet as well. I will never buy the Corsair, Thermaltake or EK lines as they are way too expensive. In my opinion the Phanteks SK140 ARGB is the most beautiful RGB diffusion on fan I have seen(for the money) and makes my case pop.

Finally got some desk mounts for my Gunfighter Mk.3 and WW Orion......Foxx mount for the stick has a few weeks of lead time so I have a similar pair of generic mounts coming from Amazon today. Gonna see how it works and if I wanna keep it for the Orion, or get a second Foxx mount.

(promo pics have the exact same SCG Gunfighter setup I have! cool)

e: oh my what the heck, just got an email saying the foxx mount shipped already

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
I'm thinking strongly about trying a set of those. Tell us what you think after they're in!
i have a pair of P14 clear and they are just awesome, unlike the P12 max they don't have rubber absorber on the mounting but they are silent and work efficiently ...

and i am not saying that out of patriotisme (Arctic is a Swiss brand) since i also use equally awesome and silent Fractal Design Aspect 14 and a pair of Cooler Master Halo 120, hilariously one black one white, while the former is for the rear exhaust the later is for the ETS-T50 which is white, strangely enough the white LEDs are probably defective ... their white is not the same white as the Aspect and the Halo black, i think i need to change it, tho that can wait hehe.

all at full RPM they only go for a slight wooooosh (well it's loud but it does not make me want to use a headset when playing a game), all fixed at 1280/1300RPM virtually silent

What buttons does the G923 have that the G29 didn't?
The bottom 2 on the left and the dial and button on the right pretty sure the G29 has the sane layout my G920 didn’t. The real big difference over the 2 is a completely different FFB system. I‘m not sure I’m 100% sold on it yet it’s much “lighter” than I‘m used to but very accurate. The brake is the part I’m having to get used too.

Gotta say, my Noctuna fans are the loudest fans I have ever owned :D
Try noctua, they're quieter

I hear unplugging them helps with the noise. Airflow might suffer though.

Will it be worth my money?
Yes, if the storage is needed.

i have a pair of P14 clear and they are just awesome, unlike the P12 max they don't have rubber absorber on the mounting but they are silent and work efficiently ...

and i am not saying that out of patriotisme (Arctic is a Swiss brand) since i also use equally awesome and silent Fractal Design Aspect 14 and a pair of Cooler Master Halo 120, hilariously one black one white, while the former is for the rear exhaust the later is for the ETS-T50 which is white, strangely enough the white LEDs are probably defective ... their white is not the same white as the Aspect and the Halo black, i think i need to change it, tho that can wait hehe.

all at full RPM they only go for a slight wooooosh (well it's loud but it does not make me want to use a headset when playing a game), all fixed at 1280/1300RPM virtually silent
Nice! Thank you for the info!

Pleasantly surprised by the interim $90cad pair of desk mounts. They are a little rough around the edges as expected from a generic China brand but the quality is more than acceptable and all the fundamentals are there. The one-stop-shop stick plate is a bit crude, but still, $90

My HOTAS solution I’ve been using for almost 2 decades. It’s a wood “keyboard tray“ the kind that used to slide out under the desk. I put some decent rubber feet on it(a few times) but it’s had a X52, 52 Pro and my current X56 screwed to it. Makes setuo basically as long as it take to plug it in

ah.. i had for a long time a X-55 Rhino (unfortunatelly after Madcatz bought Saitek ) which i replaced with a Speedlink Airrow (which in turn is kinda a VKB Gladiator/Ravcore Javelin clone with all the connections RJ plug for pedale and throttle ) later... (quite a nice AIO flight stick nonetheless ... modeled after the infamous Bf109/Me262 flight stick, minus one side button at the bottom of the stick. since Switzerland had some Bf109 mainly E-3 series and G-9 it's relevant to me  )
IMG20230317002657.jpg

now i want to get a X-56 (even more since it's Logitech who "own" Saitek now ... )

edit: bought another Icy box USB 3.0 to SATA ... i thought i would retire my TR200 240gb once i got my 870 EVO 1tb but Master Chief said "NO!"
IMG20230316112219.jpg

the color and mesh pattern on the drive fit his MPAA (Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor) or just Mjolnir Mark VI quite well ... making this the best ext. SSD i have among the 3 of them (1 ROG Arion with a 1tb Crucial P1 and one Adata XPG SE770G 1tb ... man i need a 2TB ext. SSD to replace my ext. 2tb Verbatim Surefire GX3 spinner ... which is starting to get slow and clicking ... although not even close to be full: 800ish gb out of 1.81tb)
