When do y'all know when they will have the "Continue where left off" for File Explorer? This should have been added at the beginning but wth were they thinking

I am frustrated with Windows 11. I have attempted to use that OS on four separate occasions and each time have the same problem. Whenever I would click on the file explorer icon in the taskbar the entire explorer app would reboot.

Until I can sort out what the problem is without me having to clear the cache to use it accurately...Ill stick with windows 10.

That's not an 11 problem, but a problem with your setup specifically

Very unlikely.

Honestly this is the best option if you and your folder structure are set up for this eventuality.

Come prepared with all your drivers and decrapifying programs on an external drive so you can easily remove ability to install unwanted stuff before giving 22H2 an internet connection and installing updates. This is also a great time to update your BIOS without concern over file corruption or other misadventures.

Uhh OK but mine did. Were you online? Your computer was off or on standby? (that's probably the reason bc known for not updating for that reason)

we cant know that. BIOS and software settings can block it.
In the past something as simple as having a specific printer blocked updates.

The upgrade criteria microsoft is qualifying with are glitchy to say the least. It's best to back up all data you don't want to lose and do a fresh install. Use the bypass method by default so you will not encounter problems. If you use Rufus(https://rufus.ie/) those options are available to chose as you write the ISO to a USB drive.

I know I already answered you above but I've done some more research on the current "upgrade" situation.

It should also be noted that the update is pushed out in long rolling waves over an extended period. This does a couple things. First it prevents swamping local organizations and networks as well as global networks and servers. Second, because it is impossible for Microsoft to foresee and test for every possible configuration and scenario before releasing updates, releasing these in waves gives them an opportunity to detect and watch for reported bugs and [hopefully] correct them before it affects over a billion users all at once.

I also agree with Mussels on this about possible hardware blocking this - especially if there are no W11 drivers for it, or your drivers are woefully out of date.

And as Lex suggests, you can do a manual update - making sure you have a backup of your data just in case something goes haywire. But then you already keep current backups anyway, right? Right??

Might as well wait a little longer and mount the newer coming next month which should combine the additional 2-3rd updates offered only at the store atm
I'll wait a little longer for the smoke to clear it's mostly AI crap being added which will probably be pretty messy
Luckily I don't believe the AI is compatible with office 2016 pro plus I hope and of course I don't use edge and bing crapware anyway

The glory of new popup messages saying how we can save energy now lol I'll have to wait so Brink can release the reg files to kill this stuff

I agree with you on Office 2016 (I have the Home and Business version). I am not so worried about Word or Excel even though I use them a great deal. My bigger concern is Outlook. My life is in there.

I gave up on office outlook it's security and filters are just pure garbage so I just went webmail.
Messing with word would be a problem.

Well, I use MailWasher Pro to screen all my mail first. I don't have a problem with its filters.

There would be a learning curve with Word, but I've been through that multiple times since I gave up WordStar for Word sometime last century!

Boy new versions of hwinfo64 sensors only on my x299 are complete crap reading the bus speed on windows 11 anyone else having this issue ?
6.08 version works properly as all should
It takes a little while 20-30 minutes for the newer versions to start messing up
Developer hasn't been on ocn for 1.5 years but i was reading on his site about 11 obstructions but if that were true why does the older version work :/
I do wish my clocks would be that high on voltage and temps though hehe

Yeah think it's a ddr5 reading bug or something I'm not going to sign up on his website to report it though and well ocn either since he's not active there either.
So watch out for it only the older version looks good atm
I've not checked on win-10 or maybe I did and I just went back to the tried and true 6.08 version :/

The purpose of "in the field" beta testing is to shake out bugs and other errors not discovered during "in-house" alpha and beta testing.

Users of beta software should always understand there are risks and be totally willing to accept those risks (and have a current good backup of all their data). Findings should be reported back to the developer or beta test program coordinator.

As TZ noted, the developer hasn't been on Overclock.net in some time but frankly, I don't understand why that thread is even there - especially since "Mumak" appears to have abandoned it. It should at least be locked, IMO.

There is an official HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 Bug Reports forum on his site and it is clear, the developer "Martin" is actively monitoring and active in it. That is where complaints about the program should be reported. Doing so here will not get his attention, or more importantly, make him aware of the problem.

I don't use any other monitoring software, sure as hell don't use any corsair/ aio/.. shitware either
I use stable releases not beta anything both those version are portable stable but react very differently and is pretty much why I use the older also same deal with a little older 7.0 version stable.

Beta versions have never been the answer for anything same goes for os's lol but i usually don't jump on new versions not even gpu drivers/ bios/... either
Error or bug reporting might be best but it's not all that pressing to mess with another forum to do it.

Well, never say never. On rare occasions I have seen beta BIOS firmware updates fix problems. But generally speaking, I agree. Beta releases should not be used for "fix" problems - except on beta test systems.

That's quite the unique viewpoint that i think no one else will ever agree with. Good luck with the problems you cause yourself, in the future.

Oh, if you have core isolation enabled in windows it prevents some settings being read accurately, particularly when Hyper-V is installed
