They seems pretty high for that GPU, what model is the video card ? Is the case well ventilated ?

You're hitting thermal limits on your GPU. Your CPU is at 100C.

No, it's not normal.

You should not be hitting 100C on 10400.

Your GPU probably needs cleaning and repasting.

Yeah keeping you PC clean is a good start but I would start thinking about better cooling for that CPU and possibly even a better case with more airflow as both GPU and CPU temps are pretty shocking.

also you've been a member of TPU for 8 years and yet you haven't bothered to fill in your systems specs in your profile please do it it helps us to help you better by us knowing what's inside your PC without having to keep asking what hardware you have all the time

1st step: Clean and change the paste on your GPU/CPU - if necessary.

2nd setep: Undervolt it with...

...like so...

Even lower the frequencies if necessary - since you can actually get better performance (more consistent - to be more exact) - at lower frequencies if it's running stable - than at higher (even default) - if thermal throttling.

On a laptop i lowered the frequencies by 20% - since at this frequency I can run the GPU at 700 mV instead of 1000+ (or 900 undervolted) mV for default. Which translated to a maximum of 75*C in heavy load - despite of having the mediocre cooling and airflow of a laptop. In less GPU intensive games - it rarely goes above 50*C. Some (if not most) - are against lowering the max potential of your GPU (sacrificing FPS for lower temperatures) - but that's all up to you and the games you play. This configuration simply fits my needs. Not to mention - the fans are usually running quite low as well (around 50% or less - compared to max speed) - as in - reasonably silent. Tho, sure - a demanding game can change that (both temperatures and fan noise).

Thank u very much for the help, im cleaning the cabinet right now. After this will check the temps. And yes surely i will repaste the cpu if the temps are still high. There was a ton of dust inside. Ive been at it since my last msg. And yes will enter he specs in my profile as well after the cleaning is done. Will post the pics as well. Lets see what happens. Thanks very much to you all.

You've still got the stock Intel cooler? How do you cope with that noise? :fear:

Seriously, get a better cooler for your CPU, give the graphics card a good cleaning, and potentially a case with better airflow.

While the GPU can easily thermal throttle when reaching maximum temp (which isn't ideal, but acceptable), running an i5 to 100 degrees isn't normal.

This city is very very hot. And a lottttt of dust. Incredible dirt everywhere. My hom3town is in mountains. One single day dust here is like a whole years dust in my hometown. Lets see the new temps ive cleaned n used new paste in cpu. I dnt know how to repaste gpu. Never done that. Wil see if i have have to do it.
Thanks

new temps after the repaste of cpu. please take a look.

What should be the temps then? Cpu & gpu? Do i need to repaste the gpu? I bought the whole thing in 2021, the gpu might still be under warranty but still what should i do? By the way i had to reopen the case to fit one ram stick proply, now its back to 16gb just saying. Thanks

Good god.
I'd upgrade the cooler to a cheap air one.
Check out your case fans and filters if you have them.
Clean the GPU fins and see if that does anything, if not repaste.
Honestly, you're alright.

U mean buy a new cpu fan? Yes there are 3 case fans i cleaned them. Filters? I dnt know what they are.
Thing is i have bought 1 laptop and assembled 2 pcs with the help of people on these forums. Entirely with the help of individuals here. Im unable to develop any interest in learning the technical terms related to computer building plus my english is completely basic. I may sound rude here in text but m trying my best to be as polite as i am in real life. Can anybody give a link to a new fan from amazon india? That fits inside the cabinet nicely that i have. Also i typed dxdiag to see my specs so that i can fill my profile but it dsnt give any details about the brand and all, i will fil up the profile surely after i learn abt their names myself. Thnak you very much guys. Sorry if sound rude plz understand this is just my english

Are you sure that the exhaust fan is mounted correct. For me it look like you are sending air in but if you rfans in the front is reversed as well I guess it will work. Most use the front as intake (where the filter is if any) and the rear and top as exhaust.

I faintly remember this. When i was installing those fans in the front maybe i did google and found out that there is a logic to installing them. I will check em ryt now.

Ok, i put my hand in front and it seems like the front 2 fans are taking the air in, and the rear single one is for exhaust. There is one fan on the cpu the stock one also. Is this fine? I mean shud i have more for exhaust?

Right... 80 °C on the CPU is fine if it's a heavy load. I would still get a better cooler for it, though.

Let's focus on the GPU, as it's thermal throttling. Have you cleaned its fan and heatsink fins?

i used the brush to clean it, cant say it was thorough.
however just now i watched a video of repasting that gpu. i will open it up, CLEAN and repaste it asap, i have never tackled a gpu before but seems like its the same as cpu cleaning.
its night time here, tomoro after work i will do it. i got this in 2021.
can u link any new cooler ?
thanks very much

As for GPU repasting, just be careful to apply thermal paste evenly to all of the GPU die surface. Also, when you tighten the screws, do it in a star shape (e.g. bottom right, then upper left, then upper right, then bottom left), making sure there's equal pressure on the chip at all times. This is to make sure you don't accidentally chip a corner of the GPU die off.

As for CPU cooler recommendations, what chassis have you got? What's your budget?

No, what I meant was that for me it looks like the rear fan reversed i.e. sucking air into the case. If your front fan are doing the same then 1) you are sucking dirty air in, 2) you have positive pressure in your case and the inlet fans are not running at a good place on the fan curve and they suck to little air, 3) all fans sucking in leads to poor air circulation and high temperature. Just check if the rear fan is sucking or blowing.
