Welp, it's time to use up some o the wcing pile. So, I'm converting the (main)back up rig to water...again. No hard tubing this time. Just ez peazy soft tubing and Prestone coolant! Had to get a new case to fit it all. Aaaand some new fans of course and lastly, a proper res. Ye oldeSwiftech microres just wasn't gonna cut it. This mountain o wcing crap and I still have to buy stuff...so sad. Anyhoo.

The warranty ends in one year not three. So it's going back

I had that happen with them too. I bought what was supposed to be a new 1TB Samsung 970 EVO early last year. What showed up was a bare drive in a plastic bag. I put it in a PC and found out it had over 60 hours of use on it. I called Amazon and at first they offered me a price break on it. I told them I'd paid for a brand new drive and that's what I wanted. After being transferred to a supervisor they finally gave in and sent me a new one in the box plus gave me a shipping label to send the other one back.

I have a friend that's in management at the local Amazon distribution center. From what he's told me it's nearly impossible for them to find enough qualified workers so they'll hire anybody who applies for entry level positions. He can go on for hours telling stories of things they've fux0red-up from small orders to massive corporate purchases.

Yessir, Amazon returns ftw! That's one of the reasons it's so hard to quit Amazon prime. They make it so easy, that and I'm ultra lazy. I let Kohls handle returns

Usually by the time I get back home my account/card has been credited. Or the replacement has already been placed.

For lower wattage hardware they're the best choice, and the VRM cooling really, really helps.
Space limits are the only reason they aren't more common, lot of boards have issues with tall components too close to the socket

AIO's made it easy to excuse bad layouts

Apparently formatting was done wrong from the factory, great sign
Didn't feel like waiting 6 months for the 4K bench to finish, either

Purchased a used rig (in systems) at a steal.

Came with a weird ass PSU, couldn't overclock well so bought a 850RM... and then I learnt that these new gpus and cpus are pigs to overclock.

Why is new hardware so fragile?? My old FX-8350 took some abuse! This CPU gets 'offended' when i add high LLC :roll:

Spec is 10-16+ hours, IIRC.

However, the item just shipped this morning from NJ (I'm in WA) and the battery was disclosed as worn-out.

I have 18650-holders, 18650 cells, and a soldering iron (even real ROHS non-compliant solder!).
Other than an assumed 3rd contact for a thermal probe, I'm set for never using the card's original battery and holder.

I do have a thread up looking for help on finding some appropriate software for my needs. However, I'll probably make a thread on the card, or wrap it into my Retro ITX box build log (when I get there).
