BIOS to fix your fake ebay 1050 and 7670 cards

Trying to gather these all in one spot so they will hopefully help anyone looking for a fix for these ebay and wish video cards.

First the AMD cards. The fake 7670's can be fixed with amdvbflash. No hardware needed. The attached file supports Hynix or Samsung and fixes the RAM from 4GB to 1GB.

The nvidia cards require a CH341a bios programmer to fix. The hardware id is wrong, so you cannot flash one without the programmer.

Once you have it, one of the two attached files should work for most of these fake cards.

If your GPU chip is a GF106 and you have Hynix or Samsung RAM, use the either the GT440 or GTS 450 file.

If your GPU chip is a GF116, you have a SLI connector on your card, and you have Hynix or Samsung RAM, use the 550ti file.

There is an older 1050 variant out there with Elpidia RAM on it. I haven't been able to get hold of one of these to test, so you're on your own if you have that one. There is another thread posted here describing how to modify your bios.

UPDATE:

If you have one of the two nvidia cards, please use the following two files instead of the originals posted. While the original files worked on most devices, PCs that validated the hardware straps on POST would not detect these as a primary video card. This includes prebuilt Dell's and some HP models. Files have been updated with hardware straps to match device IDs.

Looking forward to see how this goes! If anyone's tried this on their cards, please reply!

The issues stem from people not understanding DOS syntax of amdvbflash or nvflash (modded or unmodded).

Most need a .bat file they can just execute.

Thanks for the work.

I tried the 450 rom because I have GF106, but I get a beep code on boot up, long beep and 3 short beeps. Not working, I flashed using ch341a and read the hex code; code looks similar to original, but it didn't work.

Hello everyone. I've registered to comment on the BIOS files and ask for some further assistance, if available.

I have the fake HD7670 4GB card and the BIOS on this thread does not work I get a "VBIOS image not found" message when I attempt to flash with AMDVBFLASH.

There is a similar BIOS here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/243723/243723

But it doesn't work either.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Can you screenshot the commands you are using, and if possible, use gpuz to post the current bios from your card?

Yes, here you go. Though please note I am using AMDVBFLASHWIN (GUI FOR AMDVBFLASH).

I come here to thank you because this gf116 550Ti.rom file saved the card that was freezing in games.
Sold as a GTX 550 TI 4G but drivers didn't work
Whoever is having problems her chip is the GF116-110-KA-A1
Posting all this data to help others and add to the work of the creator of the post

That chip is a gt 545 with 1 or 2GB Ram.

What was the card branded originally?

Hello everyone

Apologies to resurrect an old thread.

I bought a second hand "GTX 960 4GB" from an online auction place to experiment a little bit.

These are the pictures of the card.

I could not get the camera to focus on the RAM chips but there are 4 of them "hynix H5GQ2H24MFR-T2C".

Which bios file do you think is more appropriate? I will attempt to flash with the CH341a bios programmer.

Thanks

Can you use GPU-Z and post a dump of the BIOS that's on it? The GPU chip has had its identifying information filed off, and the PCB visually is different than most of the 450v2 boards circulating around. Interesting also they normally remove the 6-pin connector but this one is intact. At first glance, I'm not certain that any of the ones posted in this thread would work for it, but we may be able to come up with something that will.

Hi. Apologies to respond late, I had to install this card in a system and get some working drivers for it. Here is the screenshot from GPU-Z.

Use the arrow button to the right of the bios version to dump the bios that is currently on it and attach to this thread.

Will take a look when I have time, likely either tomorrow or Monday. Actually at work at the moment. Looks like you've probably got a GTS 450 of some variant. You'll need a bios chip programmer, ch341a or similar to flash a new bios to it once we have one ready.

192 shaders... ouch. Yeah, no way that's a genuine 960.

Yup, looking at this page, it seems like a memory underclocked 450. It also somehow has 4 less ROPs.

Wait. This page tells me it's actually a 2nd gen 450, because of the GF116 graphics processor. The other one is GF106.

Today's the first day I've been on here in almost a month, sorry it's taken a while to get to this.

Personal problems, real life junk, none of which has been great. Had my nose broken in a freak disc golf accident 2 weeks ago, too.

Should now identify as a Geforce 450 v2. I'm not certain about the memory settings for this one, the format looks odd, hopefully will post as a 1 GB card.

Thank you for doing this, I haven't logged in for quite some time either... I hope you're doing better...
