Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores launches April 19 on PS5! This expansion sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago. Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores takes Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. The past millennia has seen the metropolis wracked by tectonic and volcanic activity. The result: a dangerous archipelago populated by deadly machines. Among these islands, a large settlement of Quen fight to survive.

Aloy's journey continues in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores - an expansion which sees the fierce Nora hunter pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of a far-future, volcanic Los Angeles which has been wracked by violent tectonic activity. Pre-orders for Burning Shores, which launches on the PlayStation 5 console on April 19, 2023, are available as of today.



Travel beyond the Forbidden West as Aloy's story continues. Encounter new machines and a compelling new story. South of the Tenakth Clan Lands, millennia of volcanic eruptions and violent seismic activity have carved the ruins of Los Angeles into a treacherous archipelago. Experience the next chapter of Horizon Forbidden West as Aloy pursues a sinister new threat to the planet, hidden among these dangerous, untamed wilds.

The Burning Shores DLC contains additional content for Horizon Forbidden West, including new characters and experiences in a stunning yet hazardous new area. To enter the Burning Shores, you must complete the main quest (up to and including Singularity) in the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West. Following the main quest, the player will receive a call over Aloy's Focus, beginning the DLC.

Aloy will then be able to travel to a dangerous new region south of the Tenakth Clan Lands, where players will experience a compelling new storyline featuring new characters, machines, and adventures - we look forward to sharing more details with you very soon!

You will have to wait at least 3 years to see it on PC. Essentially, it will remain exclusive at least 2 years on the PS, and by the time they decide to port it, it takes time to port over. I’ve played the Forbidden West on PS5, but I struggled with using a controller to take quick aim using the bow and arrow. While it is a nice game to play still, my other complaint will be the unfortunate fact that you start out from zero again after Zero Dawn. Of course you won‘t have powerful weapons and armour at the start of a game, but the story just feels disjointed. Like where did my power armour from Zero Dawn go when moving to Forbidden West?

Sorry I thought it was the Game. I got so excited all I saw was the Title and my Mind placed PC in the place of PS5. Obviously I want this. PS5s are now less than $700 though so Xams for my Daughter could be sweet.

Hopefully on PC they will port your Character like they did in Outriders.

Same question came to my mind, loved the first game on PC when I could finally play it with my GTX 1070. 'did not play nice with my 4 GB RX 570 at all so I had to wait an extra year till I could upgrade'

I had a similar complaint when importing my Witcher 2 save into Witcher 3. I'm playing Zero Dawn for the first time and I'm looking forward to playing this when it comes to the PC.

I just finished one a few months ago, I need to get my boots on, does anyone know if the forbidden west pc version would allow character carryover, from pc to pc not ps.
If not I might as well play it on ps5.

The power cells for the armour lost their charge so the metal bits were used just as decoration for the initial armour, makes sense. The gear excuse though was super lazy, basically had some trouble oh well..., pretty ridiculous.

It's the typical jiminy cockthroat open world sequel. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but it really didn't hold a candle to the original, the story was definitely very lacking. Like, what's up with the Tenakth, weren't they supposed to be a big part of the game? The way they divided the build gaia part broke the game into completely seperate chunks that play around the same "go fetch" idea.

There's no save carry over whatsover, it's start from scratch. You liked using 3x arrows at a time? Nope, need to learn that again with slightly different cool down mechanic.

You didn't like it? I found it pretty nice, cool difficulty jump and the story complements the main game pretty well. Only "problem" I found is that if you do it at the same time as the main story - which gets you some nice dialogs with Cyan about everything you're still figuring out - you get very OP weapons early which make the game too easy

I didn't do the Frozen wilds until I completed the main game. I used the new weapons for NG+.

You're not kidding either, I personally know 5 people who have been held up/mugged in Los Diablos (aka. Los Angeles) -- one of them was coming home from the store and had very little money on him; he was shot twice because of that. One of my friends was mugged/assaulted right in front of his house. I even used to know a 75 year old woman who was held up at gunpoint in a residential neighborhood, when she refused to hand over her purse the gunmen gave up and drove away.
