What's your latest tech purchase?

Got my cpu - but look how they delievered it... no proper protection, no anti-static... -_-'

Were this a PGA AM4 chip, no way in heavens there wouldn't be bent pins.

thats crazy. I've never bought OEM/tray version processors before but even used/refurbished ~£100 processors bought in the past have been received in better packaging.

~$500 OEMs should be dressed with 500 layers of buy-with-confidence infusion

Antistatic sponge exists in pink, so who knows.

Got my fans today.. gotta say they are pretty nice

what made u buy those specific fans?
Well, I stuck my hand behind a fin stack on my cooler, and I couldn't feel any air coming through :D

These RGB pretty fans look nice, sound nice, but they don't perform the way I want them to.

But If PS120SE can hang with my FC140 using those cheapo argb fans.. what can it do with good fans?

I will stick my NF-A14 3K's under the GPU.. don't really want to though... they are loud :D

thinking of getting this how do i know if it will work on my case?

A 2.5 hp, 2.5 gallon Shop Vac from Menard's. Last week I got a cheapo Bauer 3 gallon, 3 hp from Harbor Freight to clean up my work area with. Today I finally opened the Bauer box and it looked (and performed) like something from AliExpress. They must have used the metric system when measuring or guessing the horsepower. After trying to clean up plastic shavings from a recent case mod with it I took it back then went to Menard's.

The real Shop Vac was $45.99, the Harbor Freight Bauer $42.99. Even though it's rated at .5 hp less the Shop Vac appears to have close to twice the suction power plus there absolutely no comparison in build quality, materials used or filtration properties. I have a big full-size Shop Vac I bought in 1993 that's seen countless hours of use including pumping out a large flooded basement in 1995 and it's never missed a beat. Never again for Harbor Freight electrical tools.

HP is marketing garbage for stuff like this. 1 HP = 746 watts so you will start blowing breakers at a little over 2 HP.... Jeremy Fielding did a good video going over this on YT.

Check it out

I have a small 1.0 HP Shop-Vac, but the bearings started chattering; some oil fixed it, but I was disappointed that it was not properly oiled in the first place.

If I put a flywheel on a 1 HP motor I can get pretty much any peak power I want (for a short time)

The T30 is a beast; that extra 5mm makes a big difference.
It was a really tight squeeze between the fin stacks :D

They are a bit beefier than a 25mm fan for sure, but still tiny compared to my old 120x38s :D

These are nice fans, I like how quiet they are at idle, which right now is about 650rpm.. teh Nocs are sitting 100rpm higher. I do have all three set to advanced mode. I have my iPPC 3K at the bottom of the case, limited to 5-35% :D

I also left the lights in the front fans unplugged, and the lights are off on the mems and GPU.. just the top and bottom lights on the mobo doing the cycle.. ahhh.

Edit:

Edit

Wow.. even at 3000rpm the are still tolerable

I recently picked up a 2013 “trash can” Mac Pro. They are pretty cheap on eBay these days. I went with the dual D500 version, which came with the 6C/12T 1650v2. $30 later and I grabbed a 12c/24t 2697 v2 and performed the surgery to do the CPU upgrade. I must say, people made it sound way harder than it actually was. I think it took me maybe 30 minutes and I took an air duster to it while I was in there. I also added a 1TB NVME drive. It’s plenty fast for my photo editing, and I always wanted one of these. It was a $3000+ machine at one time, and I paid under $400 after upgrades.

For laughs, I booted to W10 on it and ran SOTR bench, even in Crossfire Pro, it was working hard to bring home 30fps at 1080p high. Oh well, it’s not intended to be my gaming machine anyway.

The description says "Any other ATX chassis can be easily modded to support the Gen4 Vertical GPU Bracket." I'd take that with a grain of salt for some cases, but the one in your specs (Cougar Panzer Max G) should be a fairly safe bet. Still, it wouldn't hurt to order from someone with a robust return policy...

IIRC I have seen you using these fans before and I believe you even recommended me them a while ago.

So what's new.
