Good day ,
I have bought this PC today
Intel core i9 12900K
MSI RTX 4070 TI Gaming Trio
Mother board is Gigabyte Z790 UD AC
Cooling system: Deepcool Gammax L360 A-RGB

Problem I face is high temps , on idle I get 40-55-60
When playing Old game (Mu online) it gets 75-85
Once I press stress test in Cinebench r23 temperature instalty rises to 100 Degrees, and throttle occurs, temp remain 99-100 degrees
I havent overclocked on did any manipulations with bios or undervolting.
In addition i get score in cinebench r23 multicore around 17k, and it is supposted to be 24k min

Please advice

You might want to look into a contact frame to me it seems like your cooler isn't making proper contact you may want to remount and inspect the thermal paste.

Pump on the aio could be DOA I guess, not a huge fan of deepcool aio they've seem to have a lot of issues although I'd rate this as unlikely.

I have 0 experience in working with hardware to be honest, i guess i will take it to shop and ask them to unmount and inspect the contact.
I just want to exclude all hardware potential issues before proceding to undervolting
Also I read about L1700 socket smth like that problem, can it apply to my situation with my motherboard?

Pump on the aio,DOA, what does it mean))?

I don't have enough experience with it but I know it was an issue on Z690 boards not sure about Z790.

But yeah good call if you're not comfortable disassembling and reassembling your components best to take it to a shop.

The pump might not be working at all on the aio which could lead to high temps in benchmarks although your idle temps would also be high.

Hopefully some 12900k users see this thread and chime in.

I know the 12900k runs hot regardless but this sounds abnormal to me.

sounds like a contact issue - did you build this yourself or did someone assemble this for you?

No I bought it from store, they did full build up,

Is there any way to check idk flow rate or pump pressure via software?

They sometimes forget to take the plastic off the cooler. if you have thermal paste, see if you can clean off and reattach the cooler and make sure there's nothing there between cooler and CPU.

What if they for real forgot to take off, just removing and repasting is ok, or that plastic could melt and potentially damage internal structure? Should i Insist on changing Mother, board, and CPU itself for new one?
Sadly I don't have thermal paste, neither skills and competency to do it,
But in few hours stores will open i will take there and ask to dismantle for check

yeah have them take a look - there's definitely something wrong, and that kind of thing happens all the time in prebuilts.

i would take it in -- for sure they screwed up the cooler. Im with a 13700K in an itx case and i don't see cyberpunk go above 75 in the heaviest of scenes.

Can it be that just Deepcool 360 is weak for 12900 to dissipate its heat? but on other hand if it was bad it was at least gradual increase to 100 degrees in tests, not sharp

Doubtful assuming it's functioning properly it should be more than adequate unless the system was overclocked by the builders. Assuming it was installed properly etc.

100c in R23 isn't unheard of for 12900K. I generally hit that with a water block by leaving the power level P1/P2=4096W. Lower it to 250W and you probably won't hit 100c anymore

He's getting 17K in CB R23 multi-core, that's a whole 10,000 - 12,000 below typical 12900K performance. This is definitely a CPU cooler issue.

Either the OP's cooler is not functional or getting extremely poor contact.

To the OP, you can run HWInfo in sensors only mode to see PUMP and fan RPM from motherboard sensors. That should indicate whether the AIO is working correctly (assuming you didn't purchase a bottom of the barrel OEM system like a Dell).

but does not that mean computer will loose effectivness%?

17k is below a 12700 stock. Ouch. Yeah not normal. Still lowering the P1 limit might help too.

You should be at 4.8-5Ghz. not 2.9.
Lots of throttling

Simplest way is to take it back to the shop where you bought it and let them fix it free of charge, since it's under warranty. Don't stress yourself too much trying to work around their mistake.

Likely fan 4 the one running at 2600RPM
CPU fan is your aio fans they are running near their 1800rpm maximum.

Something wasn't installed correctly get it to a shop for sure.

Yes, but i just wanted to learn the solutions, because i think they will try just to lower P1 p2, and undervolt to cover their hardware mountine mistake)))

I mean you paid for 12900k performance it's not hard to show them it's underperforming if they lower PL1/PL2 you will not be getting stock 12900k performance. I doubt they could even lower it to a point where you would get satisfactory temps anyways they likely just botched the cooler install any reputable shop should have thoroughly tested it prior to sending it home with you.

Even though the motherboard is very entry level it looks more than capable of powering a 12900k with it's 16 60amp power stages for the vcore.

That's some pretty bad throttling. Not every motherboard has a dedicated pump header, in your case any one of those FAN / CPU RPM readouts could be for your pump or the pump could not even be plugged in at all. Impossible to say for sure without looking at the physical board.

What is for sure it that right there is some serious thermal throttling. If you are going to take it to a shop make sure you let them know that you are getting severe thermal throttling. It should be a pretty easy thing for them to fix. A quick re-mount might be all that's needed, maybe a re-application of thermal paste, and worst case if all else fails a new cooler. In any case they should be providing this service to you for free if they are the one's that built the PC.

Hi,
E-threads looking pretty pathetic at 94c+- at 3.9 max
I'd say silicon lottery looser

Thread/ core temperature spread between highest to lowest max temp are pretty close within 4-5c so contact is fine
Cooler well it's doing poorly but the whole P-E core nonsense is a hyped thermal defective design imho
