I have now, after a a failing AOC 27" 1440p 240hz, and a shipping that had an accident...
... received the BenQ EW3270U (instead accidented U32J590, lucky me).
Magnific.

I tried HDMI (i had a good KabelDirekt cable btw) but had limited color range only selectable, so switched to DP... that enables access to 10bit option in NVPanel too.

Waiting OLED 27" Asus coming end of MAY !!

Isn't that the system that tried to kill you?
Not yet...

I also found a battery in an abandoned shack with a *lot* of grow lamps for tomatos i guess, and decided to lug it back to my campsite
Topped with distilled water and now i've got my own backup backup backup UPS

I assure you that safety was absolutely considered, but then I hacked up cat6 solid core cabling to connect it all because I can now send 1Gb/s of voltage.

HDMI has limits on some displays, most notably you need to enable "Deep colour" on many of them for 4:4:4/RGB, and if you enable HDR or the maximum refresh rate they often lock back on 4:2:0 anyway

New gaming laptop and an sd card with 120mb/s write speed. It has dual gpu's because HP. I pretty much immediately took it apart and replaced the 512gb ssd with a 2tb samsung 970evo plus, then installed windows 10 and after some issues (mostly driver related mystery devices) it's all working good.

  • Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-fb0008ca
  • 4.2GHz AMD Ryzen 5 5600H hexa-core CPU with 8GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM offers top-notch performance in gaming and creative tasks
  • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD gives you reliable storage at blazing fast speeds that ensure faster game loading times, quick boot up, and more
  • 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GDDR6 GPU lets crank up the graphics settings to maximum for all your favourite games
  • 15.6" FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge display keeps you immersed in the action with sharp images and vibrant colours
  • Integrated 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 and integrated Bluetooth combo provide seamless access to wireless networks and compatible Bluetooth devices for high-speed internet, file sharing, wireless control, and more
  • 3-cell 52.5Wh lithium-ion polymer battery is durable enough to power the laptop for uninterrupted productivity
  • Three USB ports, 1 HDMI 2.1 port, 1 headphone/mic port, and 1 digital audio port offer plenty of options for connecting secondary monitor, external storage, and other compatible devices

The largest purchase... Sony 85" X85K - importantly, supporting the full fat HDMI 2.1 expereince, 4k120hz + VRR for the lounge. My existing setup has a 42" LG C2 OLED, so aside from the panel type/HDR capability, I can run a duplicated setup, and just turn on whichever screen I want to game on.

Thrown in with the Sony TV purchase, Media light LX1 bias lighting, conveniently powered by the NVidia shield which has per USB port settings for power, and I can have the port for the lighting only be on when the shield is awake :rockout: - then there was the matter of a 20 meter HDMI 2.1 certified cable, which in 20m length (enough to cable it up and down trough the walls piggybacking my ethernet wiring) wasn't cheap, but so worthwhile.

I'm very happy with this setup, so easy to transfer from desk to couch or vice versa, and all supporting the same awesome spec. Only part I can say I don't 'like', is that any GFX card I buy now should have 2x native HDMI 2.1+ out ports on it to make the setup easy, seems like Asus do that on their upper SKU TUF cards, perhaps others, will need to be sure come upgrade time.

Second pic shows my PC desk in the background, surprisingly hard cable run for how short it was because I wanted to do it once and do it right, through the walls and roof.

I notice with mine after enabling VRR on the tv's hdmi input it does a black screen for 3 seconds when doing things usually after about 5 minutes, it does NOT do this when using Enhanced Format without VRR. After it does the blackout it's fine until turned off or input type is switched, it's a known issue with the x85k.

Interesting, I get a bit of screen flickering within 10 seconds of loading into windows or connecting the Sony TV, then it never gives me a hiccup for hours on end.

highly unlikely to have issues IMO, given what we know an 8-pin can safely carry, and the 4080 not really being an insane power hog.

It's fine on a 4090 it'll be fine on a 4080. Keep in mind a proper 8 pin can do 300w alone. You'll likely have 160w per 8 pin max.

2x8 pin can handle a lot of juice, my 3090 can do 450W over that perfectly fine on stock cables (minus 75 for the slot, i guess?)
Cable extensions, hell no.

I'd also go for native PSU-> 12 pin cables over any converters or adaptors, anything to avoid higher resistance and the risk of heat buildup

I can't get my 4090 to use more than 10w from the slot even when set to 600w.

HDMI has limits on some displays, most notably you need to enable "Deep colour" on many of them for 4:4:4/RGB, and if you enable HDR or the maximum refresh rate they often lock back on 4:2:0 anyway

Thinking about it, i'll use this monitor to play some GCube, a lot Wii, a few PS2, 1xDCast, 1xPS3, 1xSwitch emulated games ... i think use HDMI and set monitor to limited since it's how it displays image coorectly.
I don't have any advantage if set it to 10bit i think, except watch ability movies in fake HDR and @10bit, it has a button to switch to HDR (it tells, fake HDR effect enabled, lol).

INfact NO, HDMI only has an option for PC RGB range, and i don't want to switch it manually when i swictch screen, because auto doesn't works... DP rules.

Monotor's great, i like it,.

Now, it's 3x8pin PCIe cables connected to the nVidia 3x8pin to 1x16pin 12VHPWR adapter and then to 4080.

The Corsair cable connects directly the 4080 to the PSU without adapters. My only concern was the number of the 2x8pin cables that are used for the conversion.
And the fact that these 4000 gpus do not use the 75W from the slot, it worried me even more!

Anyway, thank you all for the comments. I just installed the cable, run the A Plague Tale Requiem for a couple of minutes and looked ok.
Time will tell.

so even if a movie or youtube video doesn't support 3d, you can play it on that, wear the glasses and see it in 3d?
