Would you update?
ASUS B650 Proart motherboard has a new BETA BIOS with no description.
I checked a few other ASUS boards (B650 and X670) and they DON'T have any new BIOS.
So weird.

EDIT:

Okay this is funny. I downloaded this BIOS version but literally 10 minutes later it was removed and is no longer there.

This is the latest shown now.
If anyone is interested in checking out the BIOS that appeared for download for a short while only, I'll upload it here:

BIOS are getting removed and replaced because of the X3D overclocking problem going on.
The X3D problem was already addressed in a previous beta bios. This is new.

No it wasn't... this whole debacle started AFTER the release of the previous beta bios...

Oh I thought the last one fixed it. Maybe i got lost in time. I guess let's wait and see after they release for more boards.
As for this one - it reappeared again. Though it's weird - sometimes I reload page and see the new bios beta sometimes I don't. Maybe it's my browser or their website problem.

Do you have a reason to update? I mean, are you unhappy with your board's current BIOS? If everything's fine, I'd leave it alone.

Evidently you dont follow the news.

And apparently the soc voltage issue affects the non-3d 7000 cpus aswell.

That applies only if you overvolt + overheat.
I use my 7600X with ~3% overclock + power limit in a way it ended up being ~3% faster but temps are ~15% lower.
Anyhow it seems latest BIOS work has been focused on X3D chips. I think I can relax on updating my BIOS for a while. Especially, as Auswolf said, I really have no reason to. Literally 0 issues with my PC.

No.

It is tied to using expo, which automatically increases the soc voltage. How much depends on mb and bios.

I thought expo only increases RAM things? :O
Didn't know that.
B650 proart has:
expo I
expo II
expo tweaked

Anyone know the difference?

No, if you have voltage settings on auto, it increases soc voltage and vddio voltage.

1 uses the expo profile, but has subtimings tweaked further by asus. 2 uses the default expo profile. 3 uses specifically tweaked settings, if asus has made that for your specific ram and cpu combo. If not, it just uses default expo profile.

1 takes only the primary timings, 2 takes mostly all the EXPO / XMP profile and 1+ Tweak is like a more extreme 1.

Well yeah, but OP said there is no description added to the new BIOS, which makes me doubt that it solves the issue - or any issue at all.

If the problem in question is really tied to too high SoC voltage (which is likely, but not proven yet), then lowering the SoC voltage should be fine. My board defaults to 1.35 V (same as VDIMM) when I first enable EXPO, but happily chugs along with 1.2. :)

1.2 is still almost 200mv above stock.

I'm running expo off until this whole situation gets resolved.

Correct, contrary to news posts, High SoC voltage is not confirmed to be the problem (yet). Only speculation. It is interesting though that some of my early reviewers guides said "Up to 1.45V". Maybe someone isn't taking to the right people at AMD...

To speak of practicalities - if I want to use EXPO in BIOS because of RAM frequency and timings - what do I need to set manually to have decent non-OV/OC voltages on my motherboard? For 7600X, please.

I mean, what value names and to what values should they be set? And will the PC still increase/decrease those voltages on per need basis? Or they will stay that way all the time?

Core voltage is 1.280 sometimes I saw.
Interestingly, voltage drops when I run 'stress CPU'.

Isn't point of XMP/EXPO to not have to adjust voltages?

An official overclocking spec for memory to run at within a specific voltage probably.

What is stock? My board always shoots for VSoC = VDIMM, which is 1.1 V at JEDEC and 1.35 V with EXPO.

Isn't point of XMP/EXPO to not have to adjust voltages?
I would think so, but when I enable EXPO first, I get 1.35 V on the SoC, but when I lower it to 1.1 V, restart the PC, then back to Auto, it settles at 1.2 V. It's been running like that for months, so 1.35 is definitely too much (maybe not dangerously, but unnecessarily).

Already told you :) soc voltage and vddio. You have to use hwinfo to see what their default value without expo enabled is.
