So it looks worse, but the framerate on both screenshots is the same?

......

I'm showing it changing from low to high quality as you move closer... -_-

And im obviously using an fps cap...

But no, it didn't have this behaviour previously - it would have the high quality LOD way further out...

And if you have weaker hardware, don't use max settings... and no, consoles do not use max settings either...
Here we have people crying about "20+ GB VRAM usage" when the game runs better on an 8 GB 3070 than a 12 GB 6700 XT. Lol!

There's one more thing to learn here: people are much quicker to jump on Youtube news and draw false conclusions than to test things for themselves.

There is one problem with that logic. You would have to buy this turdball game at $70 in order to test it for yourself. From what I've read the serious issues don't really crop up immediately during the return window.

Well, you don't have to buy anything to not complain about performance that you haven't even tested yourself. ;)

All one needs to do is not use (false) information from Youtube as basis to form an opinion. It's not hard.

It's all over the internet. Do you think everyone is exaggerating? I don't visit Youtube for game feedback.

I can choose to not stick my hand in fire and caution others to not do that also without testing that either.

That's a bad example. Everyone knows that fire is hot, whereas youtube is stuffed with worthless clickbait crybaby news these days, sometimes even from reputable channels, unfortunately.

I said that I don't use Youtube for game feedback and I advise gamers to avoid that. At least we can agree on that.

Discovered an oddity - particles appear to behave very strange. First of all they drastically impact performance (pretty normal), but they also impact power consumption and core temps DRASTICALLY !

I've attached pic of being in the particles and just ahead of the particles. And UV + OC in the particles. Interestingly the UV gets better performance there than the OC... maybe due to thermal protection due to temps getting out of control with OC (100% fanspeed).

Try responding to the actual point/question, or don't bother replying. As usual you seek ways to promote discord without offering much in the way of useful or accurate content.
Why do you think so many people stop engaging directly, it's all flawed logic and being purposfully contrarian. What surprises me more are people agree with takes like equating games running bleeding edge visual features to an obviously broken release, and somehow that comparison makes sense to them and they feel like it's some kind of gotcha.
You do realize that you are going against a bunch of people here who only push a specific narative and they have no intention on seeing things from an objective perspective. You are losing your time and just give them more posts to upvote each other, nothing more.
I feel almost exactly the same way, so QFT, but for the opposite group of people. I don't feel like I'm losing my time though, it's worth it to shine a light on hypocrisy and interrupt the echo chamber.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this broken game fixed yet?

That looks like it also has a fog effect and the highest volumetric fog/cloud effects settings result in big performance hits in many recent games. Just turning that setting down one notch can improve framerates by 10% or more in lots of games (or reduce wattage at capped FPS).

Benchmark Scores Benchmarks in 2024?
The console version runs at 2160p.

In performance mode, it renders in 648p-864p which is reconstructed to 1440p using FSR2. Then the reconstructed 1440p image is upscaled to 4K using a basic filter. End result = blurry mess. And all that while unable to maintain 60 FPS.

Anything below 1080p internal for FSR/DLSS look pretty much disgusting in 4K. And this double scaling effectively looks worse than using Ultra Performance mode, which reconstructs 720p straight into 4K. Although that may be subjective, as it would be sharper, but it would have more artifacts.

The only reason Streamline even exists is because Nvidia saw a decline in developer adoption for DLSS. They just want to say they're doing something open source (an integration tool lol yeah) while keeping the tech that matters closed source and exclusive to their hardware.
I love that modders got DLSS working on unsupported GPU's by replacing a single DLL file.

I could run DRG with DLSS on my GTX 1080 (and 1070Ti/1070, by extension) it just crashed if i tried changing certain settings (DLSS auto worked, but i couldnt manually lower it to lower settings)
Ran great, removed the visual artifacts FSR 2.0 had in the game - and proved the limitations Nvidia have in place are pretty BS. There's no specific hardware required, just software.

IIRC it works much like XESS, they had a path for non tensor / RTX cards, but the performance uplift isn't the same, and the visual quality isn't as good as the fully accelerated version. To allow that in the wild would be a detriment to the name of the tech, much like it can be with XESS having proven better results on arc cards, yet both being called XESS lumps in the average results with the really good results.

The 3070 is ~5% faster according to TPU results

The difference is going to show up in the 1% and 0.1% lows, as stutter.

Yknow, this chart.

Yeah, because everyone on this planet games at 4K... obviously. Is this supposed to be a joke?
Everyone is going to focus on 4K, because consoles run it (even if poorly) and PC players have it as their current gold standard
1440p was pretty popular, but it's dropping fast

I would like to see that steam survey verified, cause it sees alot of increase in very low resolutions... tells me that the survey was primarily sent to less developped markets.

Where Steam solicits participation in the Survey isn't really relevant because anyone can take the Survey whether they are asked to or not.

First, press the Windows Key + the R key simultaneously to summon Windows 10’s “Run” prompt. Then either type or copy/paste this.

steam://takesurvey/1/

The Survey automatically scans your PC adds it to the Survey. If you haven't changed any hardware since your last Survey then it doesn't do anything. This is to prevent people from scamming the Survey.

Not sure how you interpreted my comment as being everyone does that but anyway it could account for significant fluctuations in the Survey.
