NVIDIA has confirmed that the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB and the RTX 4060 8 GB non-Ti won't be getting the Founders Edition version as this will be reserved only for the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB that comes on May 24th.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB Founders Edition looks similar to the RTX 4070 version, except for a slight color change, where the RTX 4060 Ti will be getting the silver shroud. The Founders Edition were highly sought after as they offered both impressive cooling as well as better overclocking potential. Such a move also means that NVIDIA won't be competing directly with its add-in-card (AIC) partners with the RTX 4060 8 GB or the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB which are both launching in July.

This makes it clear the 16GB version was not planned. How long did they think people would swallow 8GB cards? Really poor prediction.

I don't think Nvidia would ever stop licensing AIB designs anyway. Most people prefer them, after all. But their first-party GPUs are top notch, as are AMD's first-party "MBA" cards (7900 XTX notwithstanding, but they fixed that )

You've been able to buy them in Taiwan and Europe as well

That just leaves us south american barbarians, someday we'll be worthy I guess. FE cards aren't released here and they withdrew the Titan brand GPUs completely when they stopped licensing them to AIBs - not even that consideration they had with us.

I see people repeating this as a gospel, but this is not the first SKUs that didn't get the FE version.

According to Best Buy, the 4060 Ti 8GB FE model has a $100.00 price premium, which means you're paying the same price as a 4060 Ti 16GB model, $499.00.

I guess they can't be accused of competing with their AIB partners.

In a world where 32Gb density is not readily available 128 bit means 8GB. AIBs took the opportunity to profit on the fears of people that 8GB is not enough. 8GB card is not bad for lower details. it's named wrong and priced even worse.

4060 Ti that's the equivalent of 2080 Ti right, so it could be 12GB, none of the above 8/16 options make any sense.

With this processor, 12 GB would only be achievable with a 96-bit interface with six chips in a clamshell configuration. I would argue that is simply mad on this segment.

Sadly it is happening last 4 or 5 years with FE :).

Poland is not in Europe any more?
Not according to AMD direct.

And "In Europe" is very broad statement seeing how FE variants are only sold in something like 5 or 6 countries in Europe.

Not this chip, a heavily cut down AD104 would be fine. But that would infringe on 4070, so no point. But the fact is AD106 exists, is 128 bit and 8GB is too little, 16 GB too much. So everything is the way it is, the only thing that is wrong is the pc community can't keep up with the price.

Really? The way everyone's been swallowing whatever Nvidia serves and asking for seconds for years makes Nvidia's prediction perfectly reasonable. We may see a lot of people complaining in these comments sections, but I guarantee those very same people will be buying 4060s and 4060 tis or some other Nvidia product, after all, based on the numbers alone there'san 80% chance theyll end up buying Nvidia no matter how little theyre getting for their money.....Nvidia will be rewarded again for their actions, and with the RTX 5000 series, they'll be selling what should be a 5060 as a 5070ti for $900 - $1000 with the only performance improvements coming almost entirely from software manipulation (just look at the 3060ti vs the 4060ti in pure raster, its a trend thatll only continue)....and Nvidia will be rewarded again....rinse and repeat.

Yup, they are also not sold in my country.
If I really wanted a FE card cause whatever reasons then I would have to look up my usual go to second hand marketplace and find one there since they do show up there from various sources.

yhea, just like the 4080 12GB who was later rebranded as a 4070Ti. (And it's totally not because Nvidia anticipated that it would get bad reception, but wanted to try and see if they could pull that off :D)

4060 Ti 8GB version is DOA already at $400. In EU it will cost 439€. Seriously - buying 8GB card on 2023 for 400+

Nvidia should "unlaunch" this abomination and make the 16GB version it's replacement at the same price.

We get them in Canada as well, and through Future Shop... Sorry, Best Buy. Of course it seems as if we get less than the proportional stock per our population compared to the States. It's anecdotal but probably true.

Am I the only one who kinda misses the blower style reference cards too (Nvidia not AMD, those were L-O-U-D)?
I freaking loved my GTX 780, it was quiet, kept all the hot air out of my case, and it just looked sexy.

As for regional stuff, yea that does stink.
In this case at least you can take solace in the fact that a reference 8GB 4060 Ti is a steaming pile of hot garbage.

i doubt having different capacity vram modules changes anything at all in the card, that should be the exact same pcb

I don't think so.

Looking at the Q&A on the site, it looks like when it initially posted it was set to $499.00 and was corrected after.
