Featuring one of the largest total cash prize pool in overclocking competitions at $40,000 USD, 9 qualified extreme overclockers from the Online Qualifier Stage will compete at the G.SKILL Computex booth and show off their finest overclocking skills. The Grand Final Overclocking Champion will be awarded with $10,000 USD and a KINGPINcooling TEK-9 ICON EXTREME V5 GPU LN2 pot. Please refer to the following list for the breakdown of prizes:

Overclocking is bullshit, its funny to know the limits, but definitely don't worth it :cool::kookoo:

It's a sport.

Not just having a lucky straw here. actually takes knowledge, expertise and experience.

But it was much more exciting when home user could also reap some of the benefits himself - like increase the frequency by 50%, making lower end part perform faster than it's more ecpensive cousins! And enjoy the faster speed that regular users only achieved two, three generations later!

Now there is virtually no gains going from CPU in stock using anemic cooler versus using custom water cooling and spending not hours, but days (and of course, well over 1000 dollars) in chasing extra performance while still maintaining reliability. Why would then anyone be excited by overclocking using liquid nitrogen, and using short benchmarks (or not even that), not even be able to enjoy that performance?

Now we get CPUs that burn themselves at stock settings, and we're told stock is already an overclock too far, so we should disable EXPO...
