What's your latest tech purchase?

In the end I still caved. Good riddance to the pile of dross that is the Tensor G2. The $300 promo samsung.ca is running right now definitely helps.

inb4 that Samsung has the Exynos chip the Tensor G2 is based on...

May I ask what issues you had with the G2 (Pixel 7 I'd guess)?

There are no Exynos models for the S23 family. Only took Samsung how many generations to put Exynos in its place - the garbage can. Tensor G2 only has commonality with last-last gen Exynos 2100 in the S21.

High screen off and screen on power draw for the Pixel 7a. Can't really get around it, numbers aren't even competitive with SD870 in the F3. Pretty embarrassing showing, but not illogical given how horrendous the efficiency is on both Tensors.

They still haven't solved the thermals issue either, whenever cameras are in use it gets legitimately uncomfortable to hold, even through a case. Not like there's anything to "fix", efficiency and Tensor G2 don't go together.

Got this 140 Watt GaN charger, as it allows you to charge two devices at 65 W each, which is much better than other lower output chargers that tend to limit the second device to 18 or 20 W.

Taking a punt on these off aliexpress...

I have no idea if they are genuine. but they have sold many of them and reviews speak positively.

This is mainly for my Logitech G502 spectrum which has developed the double clicking issue that plagues a lot of Logi mice and rendered it basically unusable now. Decided to order 4 pieces as I think my old G900 will eventually suffer the same issue. The sensor in both these mice should be the Pixart PMW3366 which are quoted to be better than the newer 16k and 25k Hero sensors that are used in the current gen of Logi mice.

If this works. it would have cost me under £10 total to fix. I already have a soldering iron and soldering something like these is easy. I would have liked a new and fancy Logitech G G502 X but no way in hell im paying over £70 for one. Not when I can fix this old 502 for under £10. The G900 will cost a little more as I also plan to replace the battery inside as well which i think is getting a bit long in the tooth now. Purchased it in Dec 2016!

::EDIT::

My fancy bicycle wheels are almost here... Its been OVER A MONTH (ordered on the 20th last month. TWO WEEK lead time....) but it should be here within the next week.

Great switches; I only wish mouse manufacturers would use an SR latch.

I replace switches and cables on my mice as needed, so should be good for a long time.

Bought a cheap 1TB NVME drive for my games, will join my other 1TB WD Blue OS drive, I have a 2TB spinner for some steam games and was getting sick of also filling up my C: drive with games for faster game loading/performance now I have a dedicated 1TB NVME for my steam games and my OCD won't kick in when I look at my C: drive getting filled up, I am going to resign the 2TB spinner to downloads/storage as it is too noisy for programs and games

Good luck at your next drop bar TT
or is that surviving what passes as roads over there on stiff carbon wheels

dude that bike looks amazing!!! really awesome wheels

Its an old bike. 2016 model but the components on it are still very very good compared to whats available today. Some bike enthusiasts will even go as far as saying that this 6800 Ultegra beats out a lot of the current and previous generation 105's due to how crisp the shifts are.

Heh, I dont think they are quite deep enough to TT on. id probably be running 80-90mm rims for that! These are 55mm. So a good balance for speed and hill climbs.

Id have more chance of exploding when i hit the first pothole then compete in a TT.

Not sure if you got Cd reference. Search for aerodynamics of a cow and read the backstory.

Very interesting. Cow sort of represents me IRL tbh, though I must admit I'm a bit porky and as aero as a turtle. Had my first ride out. Usual 15mile out and abouter. Ive definitely noticed that I dont accelerate as fast from a complete standstill. not as punchy with acceleration due to the extra rotational mass (first ever deep rim) but once youre over a certain speed, the wheel pretty much pulls itself a long making cycling rather effortless. Lots of traffic on the road today so I didnt get to do an all out top speed and acceleration test. Probably wont know till this weekend when i'll take the bike out for 3 hrs and really put some miles on it.

I did get pushed about by a slight crosswinds ever so slightly. But im a big bloke on on a tiny bicycle, I'll be fine.

tl;dr - 95% looks like fat joke and 5% exactly resembles profile of overly skinny racer bent double over a race bike in a wind tunnel... w/o wheels. Which lead to some interesting conversations before a whole bunch of people realized they were being trolled and were who the joke was on. Just wanted to clear up the pertinent meaning. :)

Sounds like the bearings are smoother than your old wheels if traffic was keeping speeds down. I agree the real test is how fresh you are throughout a longer ride whether they add up to an enormous jump in average speeds or not. If they feel fun they are fun and can will certainly get funner the faster you are going. Just make sure to get a strong handle on how your braking distances changed!

Have fun out there this weekend.

To put my 2x2Tb+1x1Tb MX500 when i'll buy a 8Tb NVMe PCIe 4x4 to merge all my actual SSD/NVMe (Pioneer made decent ones aka APS SE20G)... then disable Sata controller too !!

You got a link for these enclosures? I am a Orico fan have one of their docking stations and 2x3.5" enclosures they always work when you plug them in and do a awesome job even transfer speeds are amazing.

I've been thinking about getting a 2TB one of these for my laptop and maybe even a 2TB S770 for my main PC. I'm just not sure about long-term reliability.

Please let us know how it performs and maybe even how it holds up over time.
