NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Sees Price Cuts in Europe Just Hours After Launch

Uhhhh did you forget the GTX 1650, GTX 1650 Ti, GTX 1650 Super, RTX 3050; All superseded the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti

The 3050 wasn't available in meaningful quantity until like 4 months before the 4000 series debut so I don't really consider that "Nvidia is actually trying to release a fair entry level card". Not only that it was like equal performance but only 20 percent cheaper than the 2016 era GTX 1070

1650 and 1630 weren't even serious attempts either. They came out really late, weren't even RTX 2000 generation cards, and performed significantly worst then the similar prices AMD cards at the time

Like I said the last card I remember being actually a decent entry-level card price and performance was the 1050 from like 6 or 7 years ago. Everything since then has either been completely forgettable or mediocre at launch

The 16xx series dropped around the same time as the RTX 2000. The 16xx were GTX branded since they didn’t have RayTracing where as the 2000 were RTX branded.

RTX 3050 also had a good quantity but they sold like hot cakes especially the EVGA models. And at the time for $200-$260 1070 performance for less than $400 was a steal

You can't realisticly expect shops to lower prices after only a few hours based on sales performance.

More likely: they adjusted prices based on their counterparts prices to be more competitive than them.

4060 ti FE is out of stock btw

In the UK it seems common the prices go up and down quite regular based on sales, they seem to have people sitting there watching, and if demand jumps price goes up. If the launch price was scalped by retailer and it isnt shifting, its not out of the realm of possibility they remove some of that excess margin. I think our only retailer that doesnt do this at least not much is amazon, the rest are like the wild west.

Sure but they were all so forgettable, you might as well not bother mentioning them. OTOH the 1050ti did actually play games proper, within the space of 4GB, and I also remember the 650ti Boost being pretty damn good for its weight, because it was silently the first boosting Maxwell.

Thing is til this day you can still game at 1080P on decent settings with a 3050 can’t say the same for the 1050Ti

All I'm saying was the original guy was talking about the xx10 xx30 and xx50 series and it's been a joke for a while. The 1630 and 1650 were literally laughing stocks.

Even the 3050 was kind of a joke. Most of the third party msrp's were $279 which is a joke for what was essentially a 6 year old 1070 (not only that you can argue almost $300 msrp is not entry level or xx30/xx50 tier)

I mean heck before the release of the 3050 they actually started re-releasing and reproducing the 2+ year old RTX 2060 for $230-$250 and it was actually cheaper and faster than the 3050.

Exactly. The original quote that started this discussion was "y'all are forgetting about all these other entry-level cards Nvidia has released in the last few years" but reality is they were all jokes and not legitimate serious attempts of an entry-level card. Nvidia literally doesn't care.

I don't blame them from a business stand point but let's call it like it is

I already mentioned it in other places, look at the huge difference between the 4060Ti and 4070!
The company screwed up, the generation has no scalability, perhaps due to the inability to reuse the die chips... Comparing the scalability of the other generations, this board would have to have code 4050ti or 4060...to give the company space to include an or two boards between it and the 4070.
