How much would a WD SN570 cost you? NVMe PCIE 3.0x4, dead cold, and although it's DRAM-less it punches well above its weight.

I trust the statement made in here earlier they can be found either cheaper than retail of 980 Pro or cheaper than it's current sale priceUS $59. I paid less than sale price by enough not to be worried.

The one caveat here was I could walk into my local store and have ability to directly exchange or collect on warranty. SN750 was not going to be cheaper there when I was ready to buy.

Twas posted in the latest tech purchase thread

I did post a bench and stats photo in here too. No problems, it was a reasonable question. I could've avoided confusion by directly stating I had settled on the Samsung.

I know the sticker is metal foil and supposed to add some limited help with cooling
That's not quite what it is for it's actually just to shift heat away from the controller and into the nand as Nand likes to be hot when being written to if it's too cold it can cause errors during writes

You know, at some point I probably knew that. Noticing a lot of small details that slipped due to waning interest until just recently.

1.5 hours copying/verifying game files from HDD to SSD. Probably call an end to the jiggerypokery for the evening right there and install W11 on new drive tomorrow.

Most Samsung NVMes have multiple temp sensors that report in HWInfo anyway. At idle they all look the same but when the I/O load ramps up it becomes real obvious which sensor is in the NAND package and which one is the controller (hot). Anyway your temps look great, enjoy the speedy drive.
