What are you playing?

Getting in some Terraria again. Master mode. Celebration seed

need more people. Usually just me and 1 buddy. I always wondered how it be with 4+ players working together?
duno about 4+
but here is how it is with 3

Wrapped up the GDI campaign in C&C Remastered, onto CNCNet.org's version of Tiberian Sun, about 5 missions in, have C&C3 and KW ready for the next. Gonna do the NOD missions too. I love C&C.

Also got Starcraft and Starcraft 2 installed, picked up the remaining SC2 campaign and Diablo 3 stuff during the Blizzard sale. I'll pick up D4 later on, I never really gave D3 a shot, figured what the heck. Its supposed to be an action-packed yet more casual variant of Diablo, which works well for my gaming needs atm. Just getting started into SC Remastered's campaign. Haven't started D3 yet.

I am really enjoying these old and remastered RTS titles from my "golden era" of gaming.

And since Cosmoteer picked up a big update recently, I started a new campaign there too since I haven't played that in ages. I remember years and years ago, my boys and I playing the free version. When I realized it was on Steam and the devs were making even more progress for $, I backed it. I bet we have hundreds of hours designing ships, having epic battles, etc. Too much fun.

Lastly, debating what I'll go for on my next space sim. Reinstalled Star Citizen, and there's been a lot of changes since I last played, and its stunning...but too buggy for me atm. So I reinstalled Freespace 2 and Freespace Open, also reinstalled X-Wing Alliance + XWU mod and have Tie Fighter Full Conversion mod ready to install too. Tie Fighter was my jam back in the 90's. I played, loved, and beat X-Wing of course... but Tie Fighter for me was on a different level and I was addicted. Decisions...decisions.

Doesn't help that I tossed 4TB NVME drive for games in my gaming laptop recently, so now instead of being picky what I install..I'm installing everything that's shiny to me lol.

Give Everspace2 a look for a Space SIm. If you want a Star Citizen like Game that runs smoother try Spacebourne2.

Absolutely! I've looked at both. Been watching Everspace 2 for a long, long time. Been watching spacebourne 2 as well. You playing either currently per chance?

I was a huge fan of Darkstar One. I had the first Everspace and did not really enjoy it. Then I saw a Alpha video for Everspace 2 and said let me try it. I started playing at Kickstarter and I can tell you with confidence that this is a combination of Darkstar 1, Torchlight and Freelancer. When you are in Hyperspace you can get pings for Distress Calls. Unknown Signals and Pirate Intercepts. So then the Story starts and you get to add teammates to increase your specs. I went to the first Mission point and they had ships for sale. Not a very large assortment but enough. I accepted some Missions from that point and got enough to get a Gunship. Like any good ARPG destroying enemies give you items. Each Weapon has a cooldown period. I got the Gunship so that I can have 3 different Primaries. When you have an encounter the items that are dropped are always there until you pick them up or Destroy them (Every Star System). When the Game was released I was already on the 2nd to Last Mission. So yes if you like Dog fighting in Space this is nice.

Spacebourne 2 is an attempt to do what Star Citizen promised. It is a combination of Mass Effect with much more freedom so Freelancer gets another nod but that is only the FPS mode when you land on any planet, you can find bases and have Missions to find places. you have Star Citizen circa 2020 but really is like the X series in that regard for Space travel. You actually control an entire faction and can gain employees and others to join your faction. The weakest thing about the Game though is that the Dog Fighting is meh.

So if you want Arcade action Everspace 2 scratches that itch with aplomb. If you want a deep Simulation Spacebourne2 is great as long as you can stand the Dog Fighting.

Yeah I've owned the first Everspace for years, I like the idea of it, but I never really got into it. I remember the Everspace 2 kickstart stuff...that and about 6 other times I was soooo close to backing it.

The fact you said its a combo of Darkstar 1, Torchlight, and Freelancer...I'm gonna go buy it ASAP. Thank you!

I like good dogfighting, but I may still give Spacebourne 2 a shot. Thank you!

Looks like I'll be adding at least one of them to my currently playing list.

Would just like to note what a PITD the early stages of a no DLC playthrough is in a certain game free on EGS this week. For someone already well aware most of the tricks required to succeed in conditions that don't appear likely.

The mention of the C&C games (some of Westwood's finest games) made me think of an old RTS game that I missed playing back in the day. Total Annihilation, an old RTS by Cavedog Entertainment. It's been sitting in my GOG library collecting dust for way too long. Time to give it a play.

Has anyone played Lost Planet? I have it on disc but never finished it, and there are two more games.

Back then i've done a demo of Lost Planet ...
I remember a typical Capcom gameplay and nice graphics ... but not much more :/

Playing a little bit before going to bed, i've finished Super Mario Land 2 (GB)
Still a great game with very good world (mini mario, halloween ...)
It really deserves a remake / remaster !

Loved that game as a kid. I've used to buy a PC magazine back in the days before I had internet connection and it was the full game that came with the magazine once. 'each month it had a diff one/older games mainly'
Apparently I've played it enough that the game's CD blew up to small pieces in my CD/DVD drive when I was launching the game one day. 'wasn't so funny at the time, scared the living crap out of me + totalled my drive'
Just checked and I also have it on GoG, I guess it was free at some point I just don't remember picking it up.

I've also tried Supreme Commander which supposed to be its spiritual successor but that game felt a bit too much for me so I gave up on it. 'also at the time my PC coulnd't handle the game for long when things got really busy on the map'

Of course when I referenced Darkstar One it would seem that the Engine from Darkstar One is used for fighting but Exploring is purely Freelancer. Like X3 you are free to go wherever but you have to complete Missions instead of Finding Gates to get Access to new Systems.

Nintendo has managed to keep the same basic architecture for a game fresh across many years and platforms.

I just hope the next-gen console brings many good Japanese market title releases in Western languages without any other changes. Even the smaller market releases have a tendency to be good enough to seek out, Disney Planes Fire & Rescue for instance.

I had a ARPG itch to scratch these past few weeks, and since my specs would be... suboptimal for D4, I thought the next best thing would be to finally get into Grim Dawn, which I've owned on Steam since 2015.

I'm still in the beginning/middle of Act II after 15-ish hours, after going back and forth with my build (trying to read as little as possible about the game, to not ruin the fun of testing things for myself). Game's good, but I think I had more fun with Torchlight (1 and 2) and Diablo (2 and 3). Still gonna try and finish it anyway, hopefully it gets better.

Also hopped in the Meet Your Maker free trial happening on Steam for the next week. I enjoy DBD from time to time, so I was interested in this one. Pretty barebones, but fun, even considering that I'm only doing raids, which is considered the worst part of the game.

this is not good news for the upcoming DLC, apparently CDPR has amnesia and problems confronting reality and their own lies

Actually, CDPR is spot-on. People whined & complain about little things, blew small problems out of proportions and generally made mountains out of mole-hills. It was all very pathetic.

However, we're going off-topic and I digress.
