The ASUS Strix OC is an extremely overbuilt custom-design version of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060. It comes with a large triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution, an improved VRM with DrMOS phases, a large factory overclock and dual BIOS. Especially the cooling performance impressed us: low temps and whisper-quiet.

Overkill is definitely the right word, 31.0 x 13.5 cm, and it weighs 1066 g.... just wow, I wonder why AIB's even bother to cool 130w of draw, this thing from what I gather could easily handle double that, maybe more.

So they managed to make a "reasonable" dual fan Strix for the 170W 7600, but went with triple fans for 130W 4060? Dumb af.

Plenty of 2-slot cards out there, stop complaining. Some people just want a quiet PC and a beefy cooler is the way to go.

MSI's Gaming X and PNY's XLR8 are both as quiet and although not as cool they're not bad at all while still being 2-slot.

Riiigh. Is that why the $299 Asus Dual has the same noise output?

Simple. For the RX 7600 Asus skimped and reused the previous gen cooler (much like MSI did with its Gaming X Trio Classic bullshit). It doesn't look anything like the RTX 4000 one.
Asus is skimping so much for the Radeons that the 7900 XT and XTX didn't get the Strix treatment.

$390 MSRP, who in their right mind would pay an extra 30% for nothing over “$299” models.

Must be rough being an Nvidia partner, get shafted by Nvidia and consumers.

I was gonna say, there's probably nobody that can explain why this needs triple slot, triple fan cooling solution.
Then again, at $390 the cooling solution is the least of this card's problems.

Its probably that in the end it was actually cheaper for Asus to reuse this cooler from higher end models than to create a totally new cooler with its own production dies just for this model....come on, this is capitalism, the ONLY reason why these companies do anything is because it was determined to be the most profitable choice.

Is DLSs generating a frame between frames 1-2 3-4 every odd frame etc or is it between 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 because i can't imagine the first case being a good thing.

That thing hits almost 70C due to 33% less surface area. It's gonna ramp up RPM way faster in summer conditions.

1 less fan, 33% less materials = 30% price difference.

Are you planning on using it outside? Cause for the inside there's this new thing, called AC...

Not everyone have AC, nobody in my family, friend or friend family have AC. And it's starting to be hot during summer if you have an old home with poor thermal isolation.

Is ASUS including a mental gymnastics justification pamphlet with their STRIX models now?

Remember when the new *60 card got you last generation's *80 card performance? This time around the *60 can't even beat last generation's *60 Ti! It's sneaking up on the two generation old *80 at least.

This is a ridiculously priced product. There are 4060 Ti variants cheaper than this.

I guess values are different on Planet ASUS. I see what should be a $250 RTX 4060 slightly improved ASUS 4060 card that probably should have a $275 MSRP being priced at $115 more than what it's worth.

You know you've f*cked up when you've spilled over the price tier of something higher up the product stack!

Yet more evidence that Asus don't care and the ASUS fans will gobble up anything with their logo on it. Thankfully ASUS have been pooping on their customers for long enough now that I don't think there are many die-hard ASUS fans left any more.

Overbuilt card with an underpowered GPU... $390! I like Asus cards as they usually tend to be well built and tend to not have weird compromises like plastic backplates *cough* Gigabyte *cough* but $90 over the standard model is ridiculous especially when the standard model costs too much to begin with. After EVGA stopped making cards I've been having a hard time finding actually good and not overpriced cards (ignoring the fact that the 4060 is laughable compared to the already underpowered 3060.

$390 for a 4060 non-Ti. Is this just a recycled 4060 Ti heatsink that they thought they could get away with charging 4060 Ti prices for? This product makes no sense at this price.

Priced like a 60 Ti, performs like a 50 Ti (at best).

This generation truly is the worst. You're getting a triple slot, triple fan 4050 Ti for over 300$ while it should be closer to 150-200 with a dual slot, dual fan cooler.

I mean, look at that die, the whole board is empty as can be and could easily be half the price. Sure, it's a nice beefy cooler for those who want quiet pc's, but even my 250W card with a similar cooler stays silent, near-zero noise.
