I will try to be quick. At the end of 2022 I decided to make an uber PC since we know consumption is a form of therapy. Got an RTX 4090 and an ASUS ROG X670e extreme!
i have had various issues with this build primarily to Asus bioses (hot zen4) bad software (armory crate not working at ALL!). i have made my PC with these issues and I have been using my PC and gaming was a blast at least.

For the last 3 days I have had a very curious issue and I need to determine the cause. While I was gaming a not extremely heavy game (Star wars battlefront ii) for the first time my PC had a black screen and all the fans (or some of them cannot determine) started firing on all cylinders and making huge noises like they were spinning at 100%. this had never happened before so I ignored though I got a bit curious. 2 days later (without gaming at all) it happened while I was on the desktop doing nothing PC intensive just browsing. Unfortunately, I tried to game today and after 15 minutes it happened again. So 1 time is random 2 times is a warning, 3 times is a problem

The screen (TV) turns black and says there is no signal and the fans start running like crazy.

how to determine what;s the cause? Motherboard or GPU? i have contacted my PC retailer but I want to be able to pinpoint the cause! I cannot think of anything else! I undervolt my CPU (since Asus bios suck and it runs my CPU mostly at 1,35v and over) so it shouldn't be an overheating CPU.
i am thinking of doing a fresh install of windows 11 but before that, I want to check my PC.

Any advice is welcome. i have gotten a lot of help the last years while on this forum

The crashes are all related to the GPU. If you bought the PC prebuilt/in one place, I'd tell the retailer to check if replacing the GPU fixes the issue.

Watchdog is a debug feature of Windows, not related to Ubisoft :D

Bugcheck code 141 is pretty much always related to GPU issues.

is there something I can do?
Apart from slightly underclocking the card, changing the display cables, trying a different PSU or trying a different display there's nothing much you can do. Either way, it's easier if the retailer checks if the GPU exhibits instabilities on their test system.

The latest NVIDIA driver was about 3 days back; did you update?

Get Hardware 64 and see what the power supplies voltages levels and thermals are doing during a stress test (You may even want to have HW64 logging while your stress testing your system in case it BSOD's). I would also look over all of your power connections to make sure that they are not starting to melt (12VHPWR Connector).

My best guess is your power supply is starting to go flat on you or the 4090 is starting to have assembly/thermal issues.

HI i updated them.

Do you think it can be a power supply issue? i took the pc to the doctor clinic :)

Remove the gpu and run it using the igp for troubleshooting, with it being a 4090 you may need a Higher Quality Wattage Powersupply so instead of 1000 more like 1200+

I recently did an RMA for a 4090 with this same issue. When I got the new one the issue persisted. As it turns out the GPU wasn't seated correctly due to the bracket lifting it ever so slightly out of its slot. I took the three screws out of the bracket that hold the GPU to the case and I layed the case on its side and reseated the card and boom! Issue gone!
