I just hope that the crowd is respectful, I saw some reports of music festivals in England last year, and just trash everywhere... and this was in a natural area... It really upset me. Nothing wrong with people enjoying themselves, but also not hard to use a trash can.
When there is any, and when you can actually move to get to one - this is the biggest problem most of the time. When you're surrounded with tens of thousands of people, taking a step in any direction isn't easy. Luckily, they employ people to clean the area when everything's finished, so all's back to normal the next day.

More typical brit stuff.

The false image falls fast.

This is why the cop don't chase, all Brits fall on their face.
But who is Ronnie ???? Lol

I never saw that part of the UK honestly, my relatives in England are very wealthy, like multi-millionaire type wealthy. They don't share with me though, haha (I wouldn't expect them to, just saying)

It's funny what money does to people though, and on the other side of that coin its funny what no money does to people... balance in everything like Aristotle said...

@the54thvoid if you want to make a lot of money in your retirement, you should look into setting up a small air conditioner company, with climate pattern shifts incoming, everyone in the UK is going to be begging for an air con unit of some kind in the coming years (this is my guess anyway) maybe 3d printers can make custom fitting air con units for the unique window sizes in the UK? I don't know.

When I was in southern England last July during the heat wave, fuck it was brutal. Only reason I thought of this now is because I just installed my air con unit preparing for summer. I feel much nicer now, I was sweating in here earlier today typing. I honestly don't know how people live without air conditioning (where I live I mean... but also 'future UK')
It’s called a fan. ;). Try living in -40 without a heater lol. Having said that the dehumidification benefits of AC is very nice.

My relatives said I can stay six weeks, I confirmed yesterday. Problem is flights have doubled/closer to tripled in price compared to previous years, so sadly I don't see myself going. What a fucking shit show the world is turning in to. inflation has ruined so many lives, and changed so many alternate timelines for people, i don't think people in power understand this kind of shit.

I am not giving up though, I still haven't tried skyscanner website and a few others to go as well.

they just clap their hands at the elden ring faith build, useless
Is freighter ship an option? Sometimes they take passengers on the cheap. But don’t expect 5 star accommodations or fast lol

This is a thing of the past now from what I understand, I did look into it once a few years ago. If it was an option I would consider it though. I think it would be cool to be out on the ocean with the stars and no light pollution.

apart from the sea of people. I wouldnt expect much when drugs and alcohol are involved. Ive never been to one of those music festivals and thats not going to change any time soon.

I haven't really encountered any drug use through my years of visiting metal festivals (except for youngsters with their green stuff). There are some other festivals that are famous for it, but I don't go to those - I don't like the music, I don't like the people, and I don't like the generic, emotionless, raving party feeling. That's why I don't go to clubs, either - all the artificiality there gives me panic attacks. Metal people are a different bunch. :) As for alcohol, yeah, that happens, but a lot of people can't afford the weekend ticket plus camping for 3 nights, so there's a lot who either live nearby and travel every day (like I usually do), or just come for one day. This kind obviously cannot drink (a lot). ;)

We have just booked to go to Florida early next year, the flight prices were cheaper than pre pandemic (2019 was the last time we did Florida) and normally taking a flight from UK to the US is more expensive than flying to the UK from the US so I was pleasantly surprised.

As for the deleted member .................. possibly Tigger.

It was their choice. You can only be deleted by asking the boss. People don't hand around forever. I'd rather mourn the ones we lose to death. Not those whose wish is granted.

I know. I see that his post was edited by a moderator so Im inclined to believe that he received a warning, Maybe even an infraction and butted heads with a few of you about it. Maybe even more than once on other occasions and that drove him to take the nuclear option.

I just hate losing members that have been around as long as I have and especially if youre one of the more friendlier faces that have walked through the TPU doors and decided to hang around. Hopefully his account can be reinstated if he thinks it was a stupid thing to do and wants to come back.

McTigger - if youre ghosting on the website as anon - Grow up and come the fuck home you silly moo. Dont throw it all away and nuke your 15 year old account over something stupid.

How is everyone doing?

I was down at Brand's Hatch yesterday attending American Speedfest, mainly to watch Round 3 of the Euro Nascar championship.

I was completely mesmerized. There's barely anything more beautiful than these machines. And that sound! o_O

Jokes, bet it sounded lovely.
I remember attending the BritishGT few years ago and those sounded lovely for work. Closest i've gotten to a Mclaren,Lamborghini, Ferrari and Bentley all in one place.
With the exception of attending all brand car events that is.

Man, I wish I didn't build that PC for my brother last year! This one would be perfect for him... and cheaper. :(

I've got a 1 TB HDD in my desk drawer. Do you want it? :D
I've also got a 500 GB 960 EVO, but it's currently used as a backup drive for family pictures. If only I could save them somewhere else...

For personal reasons I have decided to use a laptop(Alienware X16, check my updated system specs) as my daily driver for gaming and personal use, I WFH 99% of the time with my own dedicated office and during the work week I don't really like sitting in there to relax.
I would rather be in my living room chilling, the laptop just gives me the flexibility to play it while my GF is using her PC playing games on the TV.
I can also use her PC to play games on the TV, if she decide to play something handheld instead and vice versa so it all works out.
I'll be upgrading her PC moving forward whenever it needs it.

But yeah the cooler is no need now as I am also selling my 5900X(pending on FB), with my motherboard, the cooler would be nice to add to my GF PC but..the cooler is way too tall for her case.
(see the sig for her PC spec)
I could put the 79XT in her PC and sell the 3080 instead, but I would rather keep her on Nvidia GPU since the drivers are more stable/consistent in comparison to AMD.

I see. I've gone through the "I don't need a PC, a laptop will do fine" phase a few times myself (sometimes out of necessity when I moved or lived a semi-nomadic university life, other times just because), but the PC builder in me kept asking what the heck I was doing every time. Now I'm happy with my netbook, compute stick and 3 and a half PCs. :D

Its all fair mate, but for me I've done it enough now and I fancied ticking this Alienware ownership itch i've had since seeing a Area 51 laptop back in the 2007-2010 era.
So I thought it's time to tick that off my list.

Its all fair mate, but for me I've done it enough now and I fancied ticking this Alienware ownership itch i've had since seeing a Area 51 laptop back in the 2007-2010 era.
So I thought it's time to tick that off my list.
Is it any good? I mean, Alienware hasn't been what it used to be in recent years. I've seen a few desktop reviews on GN that made me forget that I ever had such an itch. :(

I wouldn't touch their desktop, but their laptop are more worthwhile getting since they are built differently as they have to assemble it to meet certain criteria.
It is great so far, haven't had any problems so far.

Benchmark Scores I have wrestled bandwidths, Tussled with voltages, Handcuffed Overclocks, Thrown Gigahertz in Jail
A relative of mine uses a AW laptop too (12th Gen 3000-series card) but a 14"-model which he partially regrets having acceded to a smaller screen. He later grabbed an external hi-ref-rate 1080p ultra-wide to pair up at home. According to him, great performance all-round.

Personally, I couldn't do it. Its not just the desktop performance/thermals/upgrade/etc advantage but sadly i'm also sold on the tampered glass and the hardware eye candy (yeah yeah and some of that 5-year old pleasing lighting circus hehe). Although i would consider a lappie if circumstances changed, eg. staying away from home more frequently.

So you bought a laptop to spend more time with your second half? lol I'd buy one and pretend i'm on work travels to only book a hotel room for an uninterrupted all-nighter B2042 session :rockout: (thats the true definition of gaming portability)

My missus has the TV in the living room, I have my computer (and several others) in the game room. Some alone time is only fair, everybody needs it. :)
