Bummer. :(

On the plus side, I've heard Amtrak has some nice cross-country services running. Not the same as visiting friends, though.

I'm having a look now, I might do this

it is official, sadly I won't be visiting England this year. I tried every which way, but prices are just insane now, for flights + airbnb + etc

I just want to be with my friends and relatives there... sucks so bad. hopefully next year. I miss Sainsburys food...

nothing to do this summer, so I need to decide, do I get out of my comfort zone, go on a hike/airbnb in USA parts I never been to (no car so I am limited...)? or do I sit at home and game/read all summer...

I have no teaching contracts for the summer, so completely free (sadly)

Everything sucks at the moment tbf. And you'd need a lot more spending money for the inflated sainsburys prices tbf.

Try make something good from something bad, maybe learn something new with your free time? Side-hustle it up a bit.

Airbnb is overpriced because that here atm is a side-hustle thing too...

A while back in 2017 I did a West coast trip (not sure where you live though), I flew into Seattle, spent a couple of days there in the North West then we hired a car and worked our way South, some of our stops were San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, LA, San Diego and inland to Vegas (flew home from there) via the Grand Canyon, it was awesome but I was more knackered when I got back than when we left :D

I am getting so fucked off with Virgin Media. I'm meant to be on about 350/35. And when it works, it's fast enough. But of late it's been a terrible service. Ball-breakingly bad. Wife works from home and her calls just drop. About to check out Sky - they were always 99.9% with the service. I'd rate Virgin right now at 75%.

Worse was that it interrupted Picard - bastards.

Not sure if this is relevant to your service drop-outs or slow-downs.

We've been with VM for 12+ years with flawless service except the rare i suppose infrequent expected delays. Only recently, about a year back we started experiencing occasional slow downs and disconnections. The pattern being, everytime it rained the signal started wearing down a bit. In the last 2-3 months it got worse... disconnections or slow performance for hours on hours. Eventually got VM to send out an engineer... he checked the external wall connection box and immediately diagnosed the issue to corroded bad connectors (i guess rain water was getting in). He changed the connectors and went on his way. Its been a couple of weeks and so-far the internet is back to its long commendable-self: FLAWLESS!

So im curious, could your issue be wet-weather related or is it a random ball-breaker?

Well - guy came out at about 8:30am - our physical line is fine at our end. Gave us a new router anyway.

Our line dropped again at 10:15am (ish) for 5 minutes (wife working from home was kicked from another call). I checked down detector to see this:

Oh look - a bunch of reports when I had my issues.

At this point, I want to strangle the guy in charge of Virgin's networking and technical division. Chief clown of bumbletown.

Coincidentally having our boiler servciced and the guy who's doing it told me his mum is having the same issues for a few weeks now.

Do you have long left on your contract?

A lot of ISPs will allow you to leave if youre not completely satisfied with the service. They might charge you a small fee for it (some ISPs also wont...) but they wont bone you for the cost of your remaining contract if you decide its what you want to do.

A lot of it can depend on who you get through to on the phone and how nicely you speak with them. (dont be all shouty)

Good 120mm fans usually have had a premium price, but like everything else in this world it's all gawn mad. I have the 140mm version of these and they are really good, the 120mm version was reviewed by TPU.........................

Thank you. I was referring to the £28-35 fans, which was all i was seeing on overclockers. All I wanted was some black corsair fans with white LED's to go with this pc. I closed the tab straight away when i saw them

I may give these a try. Not too bad a price and hopefully they have fan stop as my pcs almost silent.

£9.65 for a T30 in any bundled combo would be Santa-gone-nuts lol

You might have confused "triple mode" with "triple pack". Thats a single T30 for £28.49

to be fair to Noctua the customer service they offer is insane.

I emailed them one time for brackets I needed for an extra fan, they had me take pictures with date and my name on index card, etc. the next day the replacement part was shipped out to me. wild, never experienced anything like it. most companies just ask you a bajillion useless questions to make you grow tired so you go away.

agreed! I've tried a whole bunch of ~10 quid affordable fans over the years (even some unbranded ones off aliexpress or unfamiliar slapped-on-brand ebay/amazons ones too)... none of them even come close to the Arctic P12/P14. Haven't tried any of the F series though.

Airflow vs pressure optimized blade geometry. Good for case fans, especially on big cases with a lot of room in them.

I know i should check for myself but rather hear from someone who actually uses them..... i suspect the Fs are somewhat/considerably quieter? I usually buy the Ps and lower the fan curve for almost whisper quiet performance.

I know i should check for myself but rather hear from someone who actually uses them..... i suspect the Fs are somewhat/considerably quieter? I usually buy the Ps and lower the fan curve for almost whisper quiet performance.
Probably, in free air. The SP is low on them, so they start to lose out in airflow once you throw in things like filters, solid front panels, radiators, etc.

I just use the P version myself, as they come in 3-packs for even cheaper and I can use them on heatsinks as well.

tis the greatest enemy the world and Cosmos has ever known, even on Kepler-186f many rituals involve this never ending war... we clean and we clean, and then we clean some more!

Ritual that is, for sure. Pulling your PC apart for a thorough clean can have therapeutic effects. :)

this is very true, I often enjoy those days when it comes time to clean a bit. i tape wet wipes and wipe off the dust of each individual fan blade too.

I take very good care of my stuff

talking about cleaning lol.... therapeutic or not i'm a lazy baasterd. A tiny regret with going for an all-white build with the dust monsters bravely flaunting their shit in wide open view. For full cleaning, i admit once you get into it (nooks and crannies incl), holy crap you get a little too into it. Mines up for a full clean. A free stress relieving therapeutic session available for anyone if interested (AUSWOLF?? hehe)
