These look extremely interesting and appealing; AMD is in a lot of trouble! Intel is bringing 20 cores even to the entry level, unless AMD lowers prices massively and makes their 16 core chips something like $300 I don't see why anyone would go with AMD!

Intel is better in gaming, better in applications now due to bringing a shit ton of cores and they offer the cheaper motherboard entry!

I really hope AMD lowers prices, I wish for them to have a success and catch up to Intel even further, they are still way behind in market share even today, but they have to earn it! Their interview with TPU suggests they recognise they have a platform cost problem although they see the solution as bringing lower spec boards to market instead of lowering their chipset costs on the better boards.

They do have CPUs coming targeting the budget market I expect based on that interview.

I also think they have made a step with iGPUS recognising it wasnt the best idea to restrict the SKUs that came with it in the existing GPU market.

For the budget market the most significant here is the 4 core i3 13100/F replacement at last being a 6 core i5 14100/F.

At last a BCLK locked 12400 rebadge for maybe $25's cheaper price. Such innovative marketing value.

$25 in the sub-$150 price range is substantial. For someone on a tight budget, the difference can easily mean getting a higher tier product on another part of the system. It's hard to fault Intel for improving the value they offer in a part of the market that AMD has all but abandoned.

It's the same silicon as Raptor Lake, so not sure what exactly there is to be curious about. Just go look at some benchmarks of the 32EU iGPU that's been around since 12th gen.

Wow everything but the i9 is moving up a tier in spec. If they don't move up a tier in price as well AMD should be worried. Even the 14100 looks strong and should stick it to the 7600. Might be time to update my old 3700X to 14700/14600. I'll update my other PC's 5800X after Arrow Lake and Zen 5 are shipping.

AMD dominated both consumer and enterprise market at this point. What are you on? The 5800X3D alone makes mush of the highest end Intel right now while only consuming 1/3rd of a power budget.

New i5 is going to be what 12900K was and all on the same chipset. Would have taken Intel at least a decade for that to happen without strong AMD.

I think this isn't so much a try to one up AMD, but perhaps more of an effort to generate enthusiasm about upgrade at all - both AMD and Intel aren't selling well, as shown here in Intel Q1 revenue report:

This is quite correct but as this slide produced by Intel shows, there was still a profit of around $500 million

AMD's equivalent to the CCG is the Client Segment. Like Intel there was a substantial drop in income, but unlike Intel there was a loss of around $170 million dollars on a revenue of $700 million.

The reason for this, and the difference in income between the two is because Intel continues to dominate the pre-built PC and Windows notebook/laptop market. The enthusiast desktop market is another matter.
