As per the included photo, I've noticed some games have this kind of issue with shadows looking "jagged" or "split". This has been an issue I've noticed on some games going back years, and several different graphics cards, but I never did manage to find a solution to it in the games where it's a problem. I'm wondering if anyone here knows something I've missed, or what the cause is.

What setting would I be looking to change? The only settings I've changed are allocating "maximum performance" power allocation to certain games

Can't tell, had exactly the same case for friend many years ago, he had changed alot of settings there and one of the options did this, but sadly I don't know which one. He aswell did swap gpu generation on nvidia and that didn't help and then it was obvious that the culprit was nvidia control panel.

That is why I'm saying nvidia control panel, but maybe you have different case.

I'm guessing FXAA or MFAA, or some texture filtering setting, but it might be something else.

Wondering, are you using dlss? How about shadow settings in the game itself?

Restore "Global profile" to factory defaults, apply and then try to set Anisotropic to 16x, Antialiasing to 4x and Transparency Anti-Aliasing to Supersample and 4x and Apply.
