I tried lowering DVID. It also lowers SOC for some reason. Down to -48mv seemes to give no performancedrop, -60mv seems to give slight drop.

In CB23 with -30CO:
-No offset 15150p 96W, 74C
-60mv 14950p 85W, 68C
-48mv 15050p 87W, 70C

Quite impressive :)

What's your PPT btw?

In TimeSpy or TimeSpy Extreme, does CPU clock stay pegged? I've lowered all power limits, to IIRC 110, 72, 110 got 15000-15090 in C23 but on TimeSpy I could see tons of downclock spikes at the graph when you finish the benchmark even though it looked like it didn't affect the score it was worrying to see which could translate to frame pacing issues

PPT 110W, no downclocks on CB23, stays at 4450. havent tried timespy, can give it a shot :)

Same here on CB23 problem is when it's a 3D load (timespy or timespy extreme) 3Dmarks own graph post bench shows a ton of downclock spikes, like those really sharp that go down to 300mhz (at the worst) so it looks to be a millisecond downclocking

In the CPU-benchpart? If it's in the GPU bench it is natural due to mostly GPU-load.

No, only on the GPU load part:

This is with Power limits of: 110, 80, 100. -30 CO. Cinebench R23 = 15100

Ram and voltage:

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
Interesting performance. I see your effective clocks are also 4450, but 14200 is a score more typical of bone stock 5800X3D. I can't even stick to 4450 for the duration of a loop, but am always at 15000, at below 100W stock limits. Not even at -30 I think, like -25 or -28. Strange how these samples vary so wildly.

Tried Vcore offset once, didn't seem to work so great on my sample in terms of performance.
because i didnt quit anything in the background and had a dozen programs open - that wasnt a benchmark run.
This is a knife benchmark run
1690004262488.png

Nothing fancy, i just quit my browsers, discord, chat programs etc this time

If you offset too much, you lose clock speed as the CPU lowers VID and clocks with it instead of going unstable like the 2D CPUs do.
That may be an asus exclusive behaviour, i dont know since the voltage offset is rare.

You can try the same on 1206/1208 to see if performance improves at all, but 15200 ish is basically the limit for R23 multi core without BCLK.

I had noticeably increased power and temps which I struggled to deal with but still wrestled it back to about 15100 in the end. About the same as 1207.

Others also report 1207 and 1208 basically the same.
mean while my 3900x is boosting to 4.7ghz scoring 19700- 19800 cr23 while staying at a cool 66c 1382 single core

You may want to add what motherboards since the vendor tend release at different times like Asus always drops bioses before Gigabyte.

When I check for my board Asus hasn't released it yet.

I noticed that the last few versions of BIOS files on MSI had the same size and only 0.02 MB compared to older ones this one is 0.04 bigger than last one, they added "a few" security fixes for sure :D
Not sure if its worth flashing it , too lazy to set everything up again .. memory timings etc..

I installed a hardward TPM module after upgrading to the 5800X3D due to the TPM attestation issue that wasn't there when I was on the 5800X.

now I don't worry about it.

Fortunately, not needing fTPM functionality means not needing the last 4 AGESA releases either
Truly.

My board got it on October 26th, though. Definitely not "a month ago", sadly lmao

Code:
ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II BIOS 3404
Versión 3404
16.39 MB 2023/10/26

"1. Update AGESA version to ComboV2PI 1.2.0.B
2. Update AMD 5000/3000 Series CPU fTPM version, please back up Bitlocker recovery key before updating this version BIOS

Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (R550FGW2.CAP) using BIOSRenamer."

Looked around and reports of ComboV2PI 1.2.0.B go all the way back to September.
