Not sure the market really needs it... do it on real vintage HW and film.

I am more exited to wait for a new Pentax Film camera then. We have OM system, Leica, A7c that's actually a really good option budget wise and rumors go that a A7c II is coming for going digital with retro looks.

Rumours talks about a B/W function on this unit ...
This could be a cheaper alt. to a Leica Monochrom.

I like the vintage design, some OM-D, even some Fuji camera.
The Zfc is a nice looker, more or less a Z50 with another design.
I still have a Nikon Df. It's like a friend, some defaults but I always want to hang with it

Almost anything can be cheaper than Leica... that's the point. It is into absurd territory.

I still shoot on BW films, various flavors, they differ a lot... it just ain't it... I do not understand the obsession faking things, yes the lack of Bayer array is a thing, but is it like revolutionary? Nope..., while you can do the real deal, IMHO this is the last decade you are able experience it. You can go lazy with Canon Rebel 35 film model with EF mount and AF under 100$ and go... you don't have to follow the hipster trend doing full manual etc stuff. It really does not matter, as long you shoot and have a good time. For most of time all the fancy YouTube reviewers fail to understand that all those vintage cameras lack diopter adjustments, and those who had special lens inserts are not available anymore. You have to use modernish camera to nail focus if you do it manual or rangefinder mode. I only have -1, but that really is a hurdle for me.

The market is pretty saturated actually... not sure Nikon did the right thing here. We'll see.

it depends what you are after in a camera, for me i look for cameras around $800 to $1500 tops.... and there are tons of great cameras in that range of price

Yeah and instead of adjusting prices companies like Sony simply decide to continue making and selling cameras that were originally launched in 2014 or so. Meanwhile new full frame cameras are in the range of €2500+

@Ferrum Master - Pentax hasn't even started development and their goal is to release a compact camera instead of an SLR or a rangefinder. Safe to say we won't see anything from them in near future. the cameras on phones are pretty great in every respect, the only place where they fail is the lack of detail because of their small lenses? and low light getting in.

phone quality is more than good enough for posting online. but i doubt its good enough for printing.

There are tons of good camera to get 2nd hand.
I've get a D7000, (approx 12 years old now), less than 5000 shoots, like new, and battery still in great condition for less than 300 €
A (old) good camera still make good shoots today !

i've never done it before but i've read that you can check it online to see how many shots the camera has done by uploading a photo from the camera

Yeah... it seems there will be a real Ricoh GR1 successor first... Not sure why they just don't improve the K1000, not the dreaded MZ-M... The interview was kinda about nothing really... like they got the wrong guy really.

I am good with my Minolta a7... I have plenty of A mount glass and via LA-EA5 I can share it on digital without problem, reducing weight footprint of needing many lenses if going outside. I do agree in the article that more people are using two cameras, main digital and some backup soap box type for b rolls, often a film camera.

You can get a 1986 Minolta 7000 for 5$ and those most are fine and work. I have some of them as I bought only for the glass and those came in as extra. People are just way into expensive stuff... you don't need a Leica or Nikon F6, I guess spoiled by some youtube divas again.

No it's nothing
A D3300 could handle a lot more.
Have heard that "pro" camera could do more than 200 000 pics.
You can see on 2nd hand market some "pro" camera with 400 000 pics ...
Even if a D3300 is a decent entry grade performer, you can aim for 100 000 pics I guess !
(I had a D3000, give it to my father now, it was great, light and capable, solid : it was in my backpack when i MTBking ... only rule : never go above ISO 800 !)

Depends. $650 + $1000 =

Hummingbirds are stupid hard to take pictures of in the wild. This was at 1/2000s and its wings still are blurry. They move stupid fast too. For all of the RF 100-400’s flaws, weight is not one of them and it helps.
