Explore the possibilities of what you can create on a bigger canvas with incredible detail (218 PPI) and true color accuracy. The ViewFinity S9 is Samsung's first 5K high resolution IPS display designed for creators (5,120 x 2,880). The 27-inch display offers DCI-P3 99% color gamut and 600 nits of brightness to deliver the color saturation and detail that brings your ideas to life. You can see improved image shadow and highlight details and preserve screen color accuracy with a Matte Display that works to drastically reduces light reflections.

ViewFinity S9 is also Pantone Validated, offering authentic reproduction of more than 2,000 Pantone colors and 100 Pantone SkinTone shades on screen. To customize the display calibration for different projects, the S9 can use your smartphone to adjust settings like DCI-P3 or sRGB color space, color temperature, luminance, and gamma. Smart Calibration allows for simple and intuitive customization without the need for additional, complex calibration tools.

Designed to easily connect Windows and select Mac devices, the ViewFinity S9 has Mini DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 4 (90 W) and USB-C connectivity. The slim, metal design works for you in any space, with a height-adjustable screen that tilts for the best angle and 90 degree pivot to view long documents with less scrolling. Plus, you can keep your desk clutter-free and clean with VESA-compatible mounting.

Content capture in high resolution and crystal-clear video calls have never been easier with the monitor's detachable 4K SlimFit camera that attaches to the top of the display bezel. When it's time for a break, you can seamlessly switch to Samsung Smart TV apps with the included remote control and enjoy your favorite video streaming apps and access to thousands of popular games with Samsung Gaming Hub.

The ViewFinity S9 (S90PC) is available for $1,599.99 on samsung.com and at select retailers nationwide.

It's kinda telling that on both promo pics they have placed it on a separate stand in order to get it high enough

Higher pixel density is important - the users won't see the individual pixels, but instead extremely high quality, crisp image with brilliant colour reproduction.

Kudos to the manufacturer for the bravery to make such a beauty when the society still wants its low quality 1080p screens.

Society does not. PC gamers want high speed 1080p screens the rest of the world has moved on.

Wrong the past three places I've been at have been either 1440p, 4k, or ultrawides @1600 or 1440p. No, PC gaming is doing what it always has and fucking shit up for everyone else.

Where is this? I have never seen anything than 1080p or lower.

No, PC gaming is doing what it always has and fucking shit up for everyone else.

AMD and nvidia are responsible. They don't offer graphics cards which can run anything than 1080p at higher refresh rates.
Actually, this generation makes the matters worse. In 2020, AMD marketed RX 6800 XT as 4K ready, today its replacement and successor RX 7800 XT is marketed as 1440p only.

After daily driving a 5K imac for 6 months, I can tell you that 27' 2560x1440p is not end game at all, and 5k 27" got a nice scaling. Even as someone with astigmatism, I can see the difference. 27" 2k isn't awful, but there's still more room for clarity.

Nope. I do CAD/CAM, just about every company I've worked for (since 2009), my first order of business is asking for a new monitor. They're almost always 1080p. Hell, I wasn't paying attention when I was getting a tour once, and saw 30+ inch screens and was impressed. Got on the job and they were actually 720p TV screens. For SolidWorks. Yeah.

It's safe to say everyone's experiences can vary wildly. I've had both experiences, some of the 1080p were 16:10 at least

That was 10 years ago for any decent company.
In my company 2 or 3 4K monitors are standard for many years.
Get a better job.
