Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
One should use solid coolants for less than 14 days.
Broad statements like that are part of the problem, that definitely will not apply to every product out there.
Mystic fog is rated for 6 months
EK-CryoFuel Mystic Fog Premix – EK Webshop (ekwb.com)

Also a solid cooler is metal - solid colour coolants are different depending on what they used to colour them - mystic fog was entirely different to EK's regular dyed coolants, due to the particles within it.

As much fun as RGB is, there is something really satisfying about a solid chunk of metal for cooling

Also it came with both AMD and Intel mounts unlike some other blocks including the HK iv

It is also said that mixing up alloy and copper isn't that good idea. My loop is completly Copper (Radiators, Coolers). I use also tubes without plasticizers, that can be washed out. I use non solid premiced coolants. And im' without the usage of a filter since four years free of any dirt in my loop.

Mixed metals are guaranteed these days - brass fittings, nickel plated blocks, etc.

Nickel prevents corrosion when exposed to air, so it's got reasons for being there
That's why it matters to use a proper coolant now, where in the past with pure copper everything it mattered less.

What blocks are you using?

It's not like i have ever had major problems with the parts i have used, when i have it has probably been my fault. I have never had any part actually show corrosion.

I did decide to use proper coolant this time, am using XSPC EC6 clear.

I use since four years the Watercool Heatkiller IV Pro HWLUXX. Also an EKWB EK-CoolStream PE 360 Radiator. Then i use the Torque Nickel connectors aside the EKWB ZMT tubes. All 16/10mm.

I bought a pair of these. Great blocks, good performance, flexible mounting, was able to mount one to a delidded 7950X with some basic hardware store bolts. My only complaint is that the base is *wildly* unflat. There's a pretty aggressive high spot dead center, where the fins are on the inside, which is fine for near-stock mounting, but if you delid/lap, the block won't give good contact. I'm lapping one now to get a properly flat mounting surface, and am having to remove a *ton* of material just to get a baseline flatness.

Next time i take mine off, i'll have a look at it

I wonder if that's intentional for some of these CPU designs?

Probably. It’ll split the difference between AMD and Intel’s wildly unflat IHSes, but it’s still annoying when you’re working with direct die or an IHS that’s lapped flat.
