Am I the only one who quite like the empty planets? Basically my only problem with the world is that the cities are too small, but that's just how games are and it's fine.

I do want to believe that in this game in upcoming ~2 years there will be alot of new contect.

But then again - Bestheda or how to pronounce the company is known for bad/weak updates and dlc's, but eveyrone can change and prove wrong :).

I think its pretty neat, but its a shame you see the same critters everywhere. When the planets are not empty, they're similar. That's meh. The same with structures and stuff. The patterns start to become noticeable pretty quickly. Systems don't really have a specific thing to them either, its mostly just distance to its star that says whether you are freezing or melting or something in between.

Also you can not walk around the entire planet. You hit a wall. That is pretty lame... This game could be epic tier if you can actually fly onto the planets like no mans sky. in fact, take a lot of what makes no mans sky unique and add it to starfield and you have the game of the century.

Right...? This game is all about immersion, and the most immersive activities are loading screens, walls, or just plain pointless to do. I can still enjoy myself, but these limitations are pretty breaking to really make this more than what every other game before it was.

Yes, and to think about how much money was spent to develop this game and how many people were involved it seems very limited.

What do you want to know?

Here is breakdown:
- runs like crap
- looks like crap
- mostly baron wastelands as planets, rather flat too.
- combat is OK
- flying is more of a chore than anything
- not really open world
- earth trees on plenty of planets
- mega cities consist of a few high rises where you can visit like 3 floors.
- Nova is a good location for a city
- contraband is fun to sell I guess.
- missions vary of all types so that's good.

This is quick breakdown that should give you an idea of the game.

If i ever bother with it be years, but i had enough of games getting released like this. Going by the video i linked the targeting sucks too.

Is there a way I can tell if that is happening. My PSU has plenty of power to handle my rig.

edit: oh heck it looks like EVGA makes software for PSU for testing, tuning, etc...

edit 2: nevermind that is for a specific PSU. EVGA website is poop.

Did you solve it ?, maybe try using HWinfo64 and tell it to save the data it collects and see if the 12v rail drops low.

Only other real way would be to try another PSU.

We had that same thought here!! :toast:

do you think the stuff that makes no mans sky unique will be added as mods eventually to Starfield?

Omg, shipbuilding is the most evil time sink ever!

It's what I have been doing most of my weekend. You have to hit level 60 to get the best reactor in the game, it generates 40 power cells, plus you can get 3 more power cells from one of the skills i believe. so 43 total power cells is max for any ship to my understanding, its going to take me forever to hit level 60 lol... but when i do, first thing i am doing is building my dream ship... then flying to the pirate capital areas, and just fucking decimating them while I laugh. bastards almost got me a few times before i could grav jump out, i think i had 6 hull damage left before i exploded when I went to the level 40 planet of Ixis or w.e its called, pirates swarmed me, i didn't realize it was a pirate capital... i grav drive out just barely in time.

main thing i dislike about starfield space combat is i wish it could have had a zoomed out mode and you can control your entire fleet of ships. like if i could maneuver the Mantis and Frontier ships at the same time in zoomed out RTS mode, tag teaming some of these pirates, I feel like I would have had more fun with space combat... its only ever just you and one ship against many... just feels dumb sometimes. could have had some really interesting battles if i could zoom out give commands to lets say 3 or 4 ships in my fleet, and at any moment take control of one of them for fine tune aiming. which would give another element to Crew, Crew that has a good pilot/missile specialist i wouldn't have to take over and utilize the fps mode in this situation.

I can already imagine how fun that would be, huge missed opportunity on Bethesdas end, and I don't feel like it would have been impossible to pull off either with their resources and money.

It was a heat issue. Bad fan placement and lack of exhaust through the top of the case was pushing CPU to hit max tmj.

It's not bad at all.

Sure space combat could be improved but hoping some improvements down the line make it more exciting. I am not sure what people are expecting though...

Hey guys, finally made it through the questline at Ryujin Industries. The last part of it Sabotage was acting strange AI wise compared to vids I've seen, but finally managed it with no detection. I stuck around Neon though to do one called Display of Power, which was why I took on the RI questline as the door to the top floor of Madame Savage was locked and I needed the Manipulation skill to get it unlocked.

I'm having a problem in Display of Power though. No matter how well I hide, or that my status is "Hidden", I keep getting caught by a security guard that somehow magically sees me. When I try to manipulate a civilian into turning off the signs, the neural implant won't activate, despite saying Social by the E prompt. Anyone else have this problem and know a way around it?

Also, at some point soon I want to level up my Targeting skill. I tried to do it in the SIM training on Jemison, and haven't yet turned in my score so I can level it further. I cannot consistently get the Targeting Mode to activate, which is I assume when it goes into that VATS looking mode. I once accidentally got that to happen, which is the only reason I have one of the 5 missile kills in that mode needed to upgrade it. When I Google for how you go into Targeting mode, I get tap E after lock-on, but I tap E after lock-on and nothing happens.

Careful! It might delete four cores there or turn your CPU into an FX!

I'm running a 7900X and there's no sign of such a beastie on my machine. Could it have come from some other game install and you've not noticed it before now? I kinda doubt Beth would bother trying making Starfield run on a dual core.

I wouldn't say that, but... (absolutely game ruining spoilers if you didn't finish the main quest, just DON'T open if you haven't)

That's why they added the transcendence/NG+ mechanics.

Stepping into the Unity removes all inventory, credits and resets quest progress, awarding you an increasingly powerful Starborn ship and spacesuit, higher ranks for powers, new Starborn dialog options and ways to resolve quests with each subsequent playthrough. It also unlocks a few unusual Starborn-exclusive random encounters, for example, I've come across a charming woman on an unusual ship called "The Trader", turns out she is a Starborn legendary gear merchant.

Seems that to reach level 100, you are probably going to need at least 5 full playthroughs of the game. Each subsequent playthrough is going to have a slightly different main quest organization, and whether you opt to replay the entire storyline or come clean to Constellation about your Starborn nature and the success of the group's mission in your original world will have a direct impact on the fate of your companions. The choices you make will also change the true identity of The Emissary - as I understand, the original identity of The Hunter will always be Keeper Aquilus, the Sanctum Universum priest, who had always been Starborn himself.

If during your original playthrough you stayed to defend the artifacts during The Hunter's onslaught in "A High Price to Pay", Sarah Morgan will be killed in the Eye station and assume the identity of the Emissary from another universe, similarly if you ran off to her rescue, the same will occur to Sam Coe. This remains constant even if you married either of them, which comes as a bit of a very insensitive shock the first time that you play the game - your wife/hubby literally just died and they're having you work a ton of things at once, and depending on whether you joined UC Vanguard earlier or not, even dealing with this loss as you're subject to UC SysDef's extortion - having you working for them as an agent in exchange for cutting you loose after robbing Petrov.

In my Playthrough 2, I skipped the main story by telling Constellation about the nature of the Armillary. I never met Sam Coe or Andreja, who was the Emissary in this universe. Now I'm on Playthrough 3 and I decided to play along the main story this time around, I suspect it will be closer in nature to the original because of the mechanics I've just explained.
The new starborn ship you get sucks. It's very underpowered vs the ship I had.
The ship I used the most was the stock ship just heavily upgraded.

Also you can not walk around the entire planet. You hit a wall. That is pretty lame... This game could be epic tier if you can actually fly onto the planets like no mans sky. in fact, take a lot of what makes no mans sky unique and add it to starfield and you have the game of the century.
Kinda like a certain game that raised 600+million.

There is a lot off about this game.

- the lack of enemies. For a game about space and exploration, alien life is lackluster and terramorphs are locked to faction quests as far as I can tell. Rest are typical spacers. There should be so much more in horror with alien life. Hell, pull a prometheus or something at least.

- ballistic weapon variety sucks, same with lasers but lasers suck anyway. Upgrade paths are super linear and some don't make sense - long barrels provide better recoil control? What? There needs to be pros and cons to various upgrade paths. Would be nice to also let's say change ammunition types between guns through upgrade.

- the locations are boring. Did a few missions that require going into exact same layout mine just on a different planet.

- all named NPC's seem to be unkillable. When on the UC ship doing missions to infiltrate crimson fleet, if you do some missions wrong way, you can get jailed. But option given is to attack. What's the point if you can't even kill these NPC's. How stupid.

- the only interesting enemy is the Val'ruun or whatever they are called and they don't even have a home planet and there isn't much to them.

Honestly, this games boring.

It might be Bethesdas best combat in a RPG yet but it is still very wonky and frustating.

One minor thing I actually quite like is that I can sell at least some of my adventures as news stories.

I actually struggle to find things that annoys me, be it mechanical game stuff or writing. Which is incredibly strange, seeing how I have something like 50 hours in Fallout 4 and the only reason I have those hours is because I felt a primal urge to discover the next Really Dumb Thing (because that game is entirely made up of dumb things).

The sun is not rendered, but honestly it's not a big deal. Graphics and vistas isn't a big thing in this game. Had it been on the same level as say Horizon Zero Dawn (where I would climb mountains just to look at the pretty landscapes) it would have been a HUGE deal, but here? Nah. Not for me anyway.
