Not all of it is good for tight timings though, high frequency, sure, I don't have much to come with there, but considering my CPU, why would I bother with that?

I wouldn't, as I was referring to the timings rather than the speed. If you google "buildzoid safe hynix settings" you find a set of timings which basically all Hynix M and A sets will do out of the box and they are considerably tighter than than the ones you've shown. From there you can tweak further, of just leave them as there's not a lot more performance to be had.

So what you're saying is that the DRAM module makers shouldn't even bother binning their RAM then, just put whatever in and hope it works cause Buildzoid said so?

Eh, what? How did you piece that together from my post?

What I said was, in effect, that BuildZoid's safe timings are timings which each and every Hynix M and A memory kit can most likely run. Binning, or what kind of minimum timings a given kit can do, is different thing altogether.

If all Hynix M and A chips can do this, then why are the memory module makers even offering differently rated modules?
Clearly this isn't true, even if many can, all clearly won't, especially at 1.35V.
But yeah, all hail Buildzoid, as he knows all.

No, you're making unsubstantiated statements that there's zero proof of.
If it really was the way you said, then everyone would be buying basic 4800 MHz and running them at super tight timings, but this is clearly not happening.

BuildZoid's safe timings are, as the name implies, "safe" and not "super tight" by any stretch of the imagination. It seems to me you're replying to stuff you've made up in your head and not to what I'm actually writing.

imo you really shouldn't waste your time OC'ing. I would just set xmp on, maybe do a -10 or -15 all core on the 5700x in BIOS, and maybe a -25 uv on the gpu. but i really don't think you will see much gains, just leave it all stock so temps and watt usage is good.

Although the performance gains they could gain are only a few percentage points, some people enjoy overclocking. I personally wanted to see how far I could go with what little AMD gives me.

I'm not particularly fussed about overclocking, but I always collect the low hanging fruits. E.g. tighter memory timings = lower latency, which some games like a lot. Mostly I do it just because I would feel bad if I didn't and because I'm interested to see what potential is actually present. Any extra FPS is at best a tertiary concern.

XMP is slow.. I use the 3200C14 XMP profile to run at 2000 1:1 on my 5600X with these sticks.

OCing is still fun, and there are large gains to be had. Stock sucks. For realz.

I was actually thinking of his @Blaeza electricity bill. UK cost of electricity has skyrocketed in last two years. It's actually the very reason I am not in the UK this year, cause my friend had to move due to rising costs and now there is no room for me. 6900 XT is pricey.

OC-ing my system doesn't interest me, but my coffee would be a great idea as it's having no effect on me in its current state and it's only Wednesday. :(

Depending on needs, I have enjoyed undervolting just as much as over clocking. How low can I go!?

I will be attempting to undervolt my Steam Deck soon. Some people are claiming great results

Did not know undervolting steam deck was possible, lol... don't think I will risk on Deck, but please tag me with your results someday if you do it... maybe you will tempt me if its not too hard to try :D

I tried to enable XMP and got an memory oc failed error. So I tried the "Memory Try It" 3200mhz 16 18 18 36 and it is working!

Now this -10 or -15 for cpu. Where exactly do I find this?

For the gpu in Adrenaline I lowered the mV from 1175 to 1050. Sound about right? "Clueless"

For RDNA2 GPUs the easy way to lower power draw without losing stability and more than needed performance is to leave the V unchanged and lower the max clocks.
As for CPU undervolting, doing it via ryzen master is easy. Just turn on curve optimizer and go for -20 for the all-core setting and check stability. If it isn't stable go for -15.

Ah cool. That does seem very easy really. I panic a lot with things. But I have a new problem. After setting my Ram to 3200 16 18 18 36 (XMP speed but memory try it mode) whilst watching Youtube it simply stops my video and displays the error Status Access Violation. It did this before leading me to try win 11 in an effort to stop this. However, this time I've lowered the Ram speed to 2800 14 15 15 35 via memory try it and after extensive testing on Youtube (Passing out on the sofa for 6 hours) youtube was still running, happy as can be. My way before of stopping this was running the ram at 2133 snail mode So any ideas? Is my ram dying? Do I need to replace it with G-Skill? (I've gone mad for RGB and they make good stuff). Sorry for the jumbled mess of an explanation.

Did it not work in XMP? If so, just use that, unmodified.

Sorry for the jumbled mess of an explanation.View attachment 314543

Did it not work in XMP? If so, just use that, unmodified.
XMP provided me with a failed overclock message, then reset to 2133mhz.

I only want the ram to run at XMP, not oc it to the moon, lol. For what it's worth, I used to have it these speeds, until it developed this problem with YouTube.
