SSD active time stuck at 100% in Task Manager, slows the entire pc down

Hello, recently my pc has been turning on noticeably slower than usual, when I open the task manager I see this, which slows every process like opening a browser/launching an app takes way more than it should:

Usually, it takes an about 20 mins or so since turning the pc on for the active time to go back to ,,normal? and it no longer slows everything.

What I wish to know is whether that SSD is going bad and should I replace it?

Crystaldisk says both drives are good with the SSD's health at 92%

Given how cheap SSDs are these days, I'd just grab another and see if that fixes it, especially if you could use more space anyway.

If drive health looks good and throughput test shows reasonable numbers, probably time to reinstall Windows.

If you click the "open resource monitor" button at the bottom of task manager you can check in the "Disk" tab what processes are actively using the SSD. Might help in figuring out what is going on at startup.

Check whether Windows is automatically encrypting your SSD, it does this silently in the background on many systems, but is not activated.
Then you always see 100 percent use. Also check in Task Manager, with program is using that SSD, it will show what program is using 100 percent usage.

In the search bar, type bitlocker and check if bitlocker is not busy encrypting. Many people does not know this.

Open disk optimiser to see if a auto defrag is in progress, although I expect its stopped by now.

What if any new apps/software have you installed recently? The drive is doing it's job. You have to figure out whats thrashing it now. Could be a virus, bot or any number of things.

In task manager then just select disk, and it will show clearly who is using this SSD at 100 percent.

Also check this in Windows to see if anything wrong with Windows installation or program and driver issues. It should show 10 point's, and no red dot's if everything is working as it should.

Under warnings it shows unsucessful Microsoft.YourPhone updates and under the red marks it shows programs that stopped responding for whatever reason. The resource monitor's disk activity was flooded by WindowsApps/Deleted/MicrosoftyourPhone svchost.exe files and once svchost.exe C:\Windows\System32\ConhostV1.dll appeared, the active time went back to normal

Then it was followed up by Service:Host SysMain, then Service Host: Cryptographic services, Antimalware Service executable, Serivce Host: Diagnostics Policy
I just deleted the microsoft yourphone app through a powershell command.

I forgot to mention what you're seeing is the Task Manager after I've restarted the PC, after that it goes back to normal, and it's never 100% in this window, it's 50%, it only shows 100% at the Performance window

Open a command prompt as Admin and type this; sfc /scannow followed by enter.

It can take a long time! It will show if it did find errors. Then just restart system again.

And switch Fast Startup off, it's not good for anything and causes a lot of problems and errors on any system.

So the malware shows up at startup and disappears in a couple of minutes?(the disk usage goes back to normal)

Do you have an AV installed? Anyway if you are infected already, it's best to reinstall windows. Windows will never behave like before, and show continuously errors. If you want to know what really happened, i would try that helpdesk i noted.

An AV can remove the malware, but you do not know about what settings it changed on your system.

You can also try to copy this SSD to another SSD and see if it behaves to same, then you can rule out Hardware problems if any.

I would fathom a guess as possible malware or something not right. As others mentioned get malware bytes trial and run a full scan.

Can always get the windows ISO from MS and format and do a fresh install.
