Bios Switch broken, no image

Hello everyone I have a problem ! My GPU has no more bios Switch and It wont boot, but the pc boot the error signal VGA stay on for like 15 secs and then turns off with a 1 long beep et 2 shorts one, which confirm that there is a GPU problem, ai I'd like to know if it can be repaired and what should I do / weld ).

My GPU is an RTX 3080 suprim x 10GB

If you're lucky all you need is a small piece of wire and some strong tape... But honestly it's a pretty common little part, bring it to any local electronics repair place and say you need a new switch put on. Hopefully that's all that's wrong with it, but once something has been handled roughly enough that components are missing all bets are off. Especially with something as sensitive as a GPU.

Do you know the story here, or did you buy it cheap already like this?

No welding (too hot); test the switch with an ohm/resistance meter to see which contacts it bridges, then solder the same contacts together on the graphics card PCB and you should be fine.

Yes I tried the piece of metal but idk really what to connect with it, there is 7 points and idk Wich one I have to make contact with, can you explain or draw or something like that ? ^^ thanks for your answer, and for the local repair shop they told me that welding is too hot for a plastic button, I still have the button haha

Thanks for your answer. The problem is that I recently moved from my house and don't have anymore a welder, ohm meter or anything else like that, any suggestions about witch one I should connect to others ? (Sry for my English tho)

Yeah... OP, trying bringing it to a phone repair place? They're used to dealing with tiny sensitive surface mount components.

In France people aren't all motivated enough... he said that it was to risky and said that he is a pro, but a pro would not be scared of a tiny job like that just because there is a Plastic part ://, so Amy suggestions about what should I connect ?

If there's no professional, the only thing to do is either to re-solder the switch on the card or to look at which contacts the switch bridges and connect the same on the graphics card. Risky? There's no other option!

Not an electrical eningeer but I would say, connect solderpoint 1 with 2 to get the gaming bios. You can put a screwdriver temporary on those points during the power on self test to see if it is working.
As soon you see the bios in screen, you can remove the screwdriver since the vbios is loaded into memory until the system is rebooted or turned off.

Great to hear! Now you know at least which solder points can be connected with each other but you need to keep te screwdriver firmly in place on those solder points every time you start the system.
You can use conductive paint to make it a permanent solution if you dont want to solder

I’m having this same issue with an MSI 4090. The solder points have the exact same layout as yours. What was the final fix you went for?
