Well I needed one of these......

Because I was very weak and I saw both of these........ But my only excuse, it was my birthday..... So, I hope it doesn't count!!............

As my daughters where both playing on the Switch like never before, I decided to grab a charging station and another 'comfy grip' so they could play on Mario Kart a little easier :D

A few more films it seems..... Maybe I have a problem......

The Tapo plugs seem pretty good, monitor the power of whatever you plug them into, works through a data connection and works with the WiFi from the router, so pretty happy with those. With the UK prices of electric, its kinda nice to track where all the juice is going!
Saw this on offer for upstairs because of the dust in the PC room, so thought this might help with things (and some more dusting as well!!)

Couldn't resist these......

Several of the Top gear blu rays where from one gent via Ebay, all new as well, very happy and had a great deal as well, he did dish out the discount! I was very happy with those purchases :)

Now, another care package from my mate in the US... A few things that I'd bought I think in 2022 that we never got shipped over so, here's a few pics for hopefully your pleasure :)

I'm not sure if I know where to begin with that lot but the two RTX 3070s where from our mining ventures, now they are hopefully going to be installed into my girls PCs this evening (I hope.... Taken me ages to get this far.....!!) so they will be helping with TPUs Folding Team :)
However though, I think the biggest find out of the delivery was the pair of 980X's that I will hopefully get around to upgrading my X58 systems... I'm very much looking forward to getting those bad boys back up and running. To find a pair of the CPUs boxed as well, I thought I had won the lottery (turns out I didn't as I needed to put on a few quid for some numbers.... Who knew right!?!?......)
The Asus Impact and Noctua cooler I believe I bought from a gent on this very forum, which is also part of the give away I'm planning to do with a few bits and pieces of hardware I have here :) Quite excited with that one, but I've got to find a case to put it in... Not sure where I'm going with that just yet but we'll see :)
I think the films I have already covered before in a previous post, but again, can't find these things anywhere in the UK without either being imports from Spain or somewhere like or having them cost £40 a film... So US I go to buy stuff!!
And I think lastly, the few hard drives, a few spare for my Dell R730 server, sadly one of my previous drives developed a SMART error, so glad I got a spare or two now :) The others, I had bought for a friend, so he's also happy as well :) My mate deals with mostly SAS drives as a bit of a business, so he has a lot of them to sell. Well recommended, shameless plug but I think he needs a mention!! :)

Oh and I thought, since all of these imported 4k's and blu rays etc. I needed a multi region player..... Here we have one :)

20230901_171625.jpg
20230901_200036.jpg
20230901_200100.jpg
20230902_000847.jpg

And there we have my aging HiFi and surround setup as well :) It's been brilliant and well worth it all. Sadly thought the player wasn't quite what the company had promised and went back. It was meant to be completely unlocked so you could change the region of it so you could play anything, but sadly it didn't and only played a few select titles which was quite frustrating.. That said, they did send out two players in total and have them collected at their cost, so customer service, high up there :)
As for the player, well, it was worth its weight in gold, even more so if it was the one that was unlocked! It had amazing build quality, the picture looked decent from the little I was able to test with it and of course with my aging Samsung 1080P plasma TV, it just showed me I need to upgrade the TV!! :D Maybe next year.... If it breaks.....

Oh yes, what's this I see..... Seasonic.... Could it be.....

A PSU or two??... Well as things would have it, I previously bought 4 of these for a few other builds I had to do for my girls and one for me (in a small case) and I was trying to find a replacement as one of my current EVGA PSUs had developed a bit of a fault which I thought, time to change them... So as I was trying to find some of these as I had previously paid out £110 each for the 4 I'd bought before, when I saw these had gone up to at least (I think it was either....) £170 or £180 each, I thought, ouch and went hunting... I found them for £122 from MemoryC.com so I jumped on buying 6 just so I had enough and some spare, cos you never can have too many PSUs right?? ....... Was a struggle to find out what to really go with, but with 10 years warranty, I think these will be perfect :)

Well, I don't believe this needs anything said about it....

20230909_135512.jpg

John Wick 4.... I was very much looking forward to receiving this and I'm so very glad I bought it :D No spoilers here!!

And this was bought for the TPU's Folding and Crunching give away I'm trying to put together with a few bits and pieces..

20230921_214147.jpg

Well sadly I can't add any more pics, but I've put a few more of this one up in our Kreij build thread under the projects forum, I'm hoping that this will make someone happy with the give away and I hope to be doing a few more pieces of hardware with it, maybe one for the US as well.. I'm trying to track down an AM4 motherboard at the moment for it so I hope it will all go to a great home :)

Anyways, I hope I've not put anyone to sleep with these updates, I've got a few more to add and then that's it I promise! :) Just hope you enjoy the pics and hopefully my project log when I get around to updating that!!

I promise these are the last few...... :) Cross my heart!! :D

Some extra giveaway pics for our TPU Kreij build.....

20231004_201227.jpg

Now this is where it might get interesting for some... Some might just think, what the heck is this guy on... I'm good with either !! :D :D I never seem to follow the norm, so here we go....

20231006_172924.jpg
20231006_190412.jpg
20231006_190442.jpg
20231006_191423.jpg
20231006_195328.jpg
20231006_201114.jpg

Now as you could see from the in case pic, I had an NVME drive in the first slot of the motherboard but sadly it was taking out two of my drives from my setup which I didn't wish for so my mate from the US suggested to get an NVME adaptor board, so there we go :) But as I was a little daft, I saw that eventually I had grabbed a 1x card... Well, as you can see from the CrystalDiskMark test, whilst it was no slouch, it wasn't what it could have been performing like, so... I grabbed some 4x cards instead.....

20231007_201436.jpg
20231007_210700.jpg
20231007_212327.jpg
20231007_213316.jpg

And boom, there we have a slight improvement from the 1x slot with the same NVME drive... Oh I thought I'd buy a pair of these NVME drives simply because I had some older SATA based ones, which I thought I'd be able to use but then with the adaptor cards I had bought, they wouldn't work, so never mind :) They where double the size and a bit which is kind of handy and well, what was amazing was the £15.99 for the 256GB size drive... Now I was happy enough for buying two of those, so I'm not complaining there at all :) However I was more impressed when it actually worked and didn't take out either the network card I had plugged in or the SATA expansion card that was also in the system...

Now just for giggles, here's a little insight as to what I'm planning on.....

20230924_213702.jpg
20230924_214009.jpg

20231001_130623.jpg

20231001_233217.jpg

One Coolermaster Stacker 810 V2 case and a few hard drives cages and a few hard drives.... Whatever could this crazy man be up to....
Well, that might well be telling (but I will set the record straight and say its NOT Chia mining..........) Hopefully I will get some time to update my project log but for the rest of the evening, I've got to upgrade my two girls PCs with a couple hardware changes....

Thank you all for getting this far... I hope I've not bored anyone to sleep or anything much worse.... :) Thank you for looking :) I think I might have missed out on a few films and such, but I think that's plenty for now!! :D

Well I guess, I just look at it from a very unique angle which is ..... Do it right first time, don't end up wasting more money later :) Or as a mate said to me before a number of years ago... Go big or go home :D So I think I'm kinda in the middle..... :)

I had a few come over from my mate in the US... It seems over in the UK, you can't get some of the films in 4k, so import we go!! Since 4k's are unlocked compared to the blu ray's that are locked to a few regions, I figured what the heck :D

Now for some of the hardware....
I couldn't resist... I've been looking for one of these for a while but sadly I had to return it :(

I'm sure it would have doubled up as a jump starter for the car as well.... Such a shame :( Cables missing and some not in good condition, so it went back :(

Next up was a folding PC upgrade... After having a dual core CPU in there with no HT......

View attachment 316886View attachment 316887

Now I have 4 cores which sounds nothing now compared to what's out there but its definitely made a big difference for this setup :) Up until I took it apart because of what turned up in a care package from my mate in the US.....

View attachment 316889View attachment 316890View attachment 316891View attachment 316892

Well the Z390 not so much, but the two RTX 3080's went straight into my crunching PCs which have been working very nicely :D :D (More on that later, probably for another thread....)
A few 8TB drives for one of my Dell R730's :)

View attachment 316893

And one of the members here mentioned that these coolers where amazing, so, I grabbed one.......

View attachment 316894

Of each colour I think  Very happy with the performance compared to the X63 Kraken that was on one of them :) More on that with another upgrade in the My PC thread (I think its named that!!)

Oh and some NVME drives that where too cheap to miss out on!! :) More on those later..... As I ran out of images I could attach to this post, so new post!! :D

Dang.... if you ever plan to get rid of that 9900k. I might be interested

AND DONT "HOW ABOUT NOW?" ME :roll:Ive spent almost £300 on SSDs in the last few weeks. I cant take it unless youre giving it away for free

Well I'd love to consider selling hardware but it won't happen... I've got a few more CPUs to grab for a few more motherboards so I'm keeping an eye on what's around at the moment :)

I'm planning to try and get a give away done at least once a year for the Kreij thread... I think its the least we can all do :)

I'm happy to be bringing smiles to this thread!! I see so many other members posting things up and I've had a slow year with kit believe it or not  But I just love hardware, so I love this thread :D I have very much been in control over the last 10 months of this year so god help me if I ever lost it.......

Right, part two... I really needed to do this more often... Stupid Phill... Anyways, here's a few more :)
Well I needed one of these......

View attachment 316899View attachment 316900

Because I was very weak and I saw both of these........ But my only excuse, it was my birthday..... So, I hope it doesn't count!!............

View attachment 316902View attachment 316903

And to test it, we used some of this.....

View attachment 316904View attachment 316905View attachment 316906View attachment 316907

As my daughters where both playing on the Switch like never before, I decided to grab a charging station and another 'comfy grip' so they could play on Mario Kart a little easier :D

View attachment 316908

A few more films it seems..... Maybe I have a problem......

The Tapo plugs seem pretty good, monitor the power of whatever you plug them into, works through a data connection and works with the WiFi from the router, so pretty happy with those. With the UK prices of electric, its kinda nice to track where all the juice is going!
Saw this on offer for upstairs because of the dust in the PC room, so thought this might help with things (and some more dusting as well!!)

View attachment 316910

Couldn't resist these......

View attachment 316911View attachment 316912

Several of the Top gear blu rays where from one gent via Ebay, all new as well, very happy and had a great deal as well, he did dish out the discount! I was very happy with those purchases :)

Now, another care package from my mate in the US... A few things that I'd bought I think in 2022 that we never got shipped over so, here's a few pics for hopefully your pleasure :)

View attachment 316915View attachment 316916View attachment 316917View attachment 316918View attachment 316919View attachment 316932

View attachment 316921View attachment 316922View attachment 316923View attachment 316924

View attachment 316927

John Wick 4.... I was very much looking forward to receiving this and I'm so very glad I bought it :D No spoilers here!!

And this was bought for the TPU's Folding and Crunching give away I'm trying to put together with a few bits and pieces..

View attachment 316928

View attachment 316936

Now this is where it might get interesting for some... Some might just think, what the heck is this guy on... I'm good with either !! :D :D I never seem to follow the norm, so here we go....

View attachment 316938View attachment 316939View attachment 316940View attachment 316941View attachment 316942View attachment 316943

View attachment 316944View attachment 316945View attachment 316946View attachment 316947

Some nice stuff, love the Linn hi-fi stuff, very nice

Been very tempted to grab one of these to replace my 7000D as i did very much like the o11 dynamic.

FIKWOT must be the most British and among the funniest tech brand names I've seen. The conversational pathways it opens are staggering.

If I could rebrand, id call it the UFOKINWOTM8. It will be slow and unreliable just like the British weather.

On a side note. I got the callipers out and measured the SSD. The memory chip sits at 2.2mm while the controller sits a 1.6mm so ive gone ahead and ordered 1.5mm thermal pads. I should have done this with the previous order but I couldnt find a close up picture at the correct angles that showed me what i wanted to see.

yeah but if you watch the video, Razer couldn't even copy them right, it performs worse than a Wooting in latency.
Well they could, but they're using the same tech the original Wooting keyboards used, which is limited compared to their current hall effect sensor switches. I had a Wooting Two and it was pretty good, until the F key stopped working...

Well I guess, I just look at it from a very unique angle which is ..... Do it right first time, don't end up wasting more money later :) Or as a mate said to me before a number of years ago... Go big or go home :D So I think I'm kinda in the middle..... :)
More like go big and not be able to enter home :D Wow dude! Finger hurts from scrolling past all that goodness :)

I was gonna post a Steam Deck here, but we all know what it looks like.
Still... best purchase I've made in years, its a really nice little device.

dang that sucks to hear, I have had a wooting two on my wishlist for awhile now... i probably will skip it. my current mech's are fine, I just always itched for analog... but oh well, maybe when the wooting 3 comes out in a few years i will revisit that chapter.

@GerKNG guess you made the right move with the huntsman, personally never had any key on a keyboard fail me... so I guess that is the downside to a small company.

@faye prime day sales today there is a zotac rtx 4080 for 980 bucks sns by amazon. i know you wanted more power, but thats a great price + dlss 3.5 and frame generation will get you where you want to go in several games. I know the xtx was frustrating you, so when I saw that deal today I was like better let you know before your refund period is out. lowest price ever, so doubt it gets any better.

on-topic: got some new headphones @VSG :) I decided to do it. I think my Asgard 2 will improve the treble some on these cans because they tend to run a little hotter on voices compared to other amps, so it may be a match made in heaven, Class A goodness

I faintly remember you getting some Nike Zoomxs not that long ago, they already are unwearable?!?!? I'm still wearing my sketchers from like ten years ago, I want some Zoomx's bad but if they don't hold up... going to have to pass.

This is what happened with my previous shoes:

Contacted Nike and they said the shoes have a 2 year warranty, so I've got a full refund on them.
I'm trying one more time with these new ones, same style different colors, if they fail again within 2 years I will buy different ones.

Here my new airfryer unboxed:

Had a hard time deciding between this, 42 C3, and the Asus 27 inch OLED Version of the WOLED and honestly couldn't go back to 27 inches but with the pricing of gpu's really getting out of control figured 3440X1440 might be a good middle ground. Only crappy thing is other than testing to see if it works when I get it I won't be using it till I move into my new house.

I have to ask, how often do you win on the lottery?
