Kinda sad that XeSS already has surpassed FSR2 in image quality...... AMD really should be doing better for it's customers.

Well, FSR didn't exactly raise the bar too high. I haven't seen it in action, but if it flickers when it has to deal with foliage and stuff, it's probably not something you would want to turn on at all.

If AMD can't beat Nvidia, at least Intel is succeeding in doing so.

I think upscale is broken. TA is faster than DLSS ( 1080p ) or on par with Xess/FSR? This doesn't make sense.

I reckon if tuned properly, FSR 2 would perform fairly close to XeSS here. This implementation of FSR 2 seems far worse than it should be on average.

I've seen these same FSR issues in every game. XeSS does seem to vary in quality more often.

Normal behavior when cpu limited all 3 have a fixed cost so using them when cpu limited usually has a performance penalty.

FSR looks surprisingly soft vs DLSS in this one

Intel seems to be smacking AMD with XeSS but I wonder if FSR is more difficult to implement "correctly?" Or AMD not helping devs? Tech hasn't improved much in about a year or so, maybe it needs a rewrite? It's better than just simple upscaling but often not by a big margin.

It honestly would be nice if some of these damn youtube journalists would actually talk to AMD about FSR, how they see it positioned, if they at all are concerned with DLSS looking objectively better, if they are anywhere near a new version that does fix the shimmering and flickering etc.
I just hate how weirdly closed doorsy it is....

And I wish AMD did something similar to Nvidia with regards of how YOU, the user, can just update DLSS by dropping in a newer or older version, that is something I really want for FSR because we cant expect devs to do that (and we already see they cant be bothered).

But apart from that, I dont care personally for upscaling, I want a gpu that can just run that stuff natively at 80fps or so and im good.

X.e.S.S has more color depth. it also seems to be more accurate the D.L.S.S in areas with certain shadows.

I switched from nvidia to amd because of the rendering quality, seeing these tests makes me believe that nvidia is crippling fsr at driver lever.
Would be interesting seeing if there is in fact a quality difference between nvidia and amd using fsr, also comparing the fsr performance scaling.

I have both Radeon and Nvidia cards it's bad on both. Passible in 4k quality mode terrible at everything else..... Unless it is only good on 7000 series gpu's I don't have one yet......

Get the game and record footage and share the result then on your AMD card. The Truth is Out There!

If you add some proof, the discussion becomes more interesting and we might even buy some torches and march towards Huang's house. "

You know as well as I do that if this was the case AMD marketing would be screaming about it at the top of their lungs.... Buy our gpu's for better image quality except when using FSR that is lol..... smh.

I had 7900xtx and 4090 at the same time for a brief moment before I sold it, to be honest i couldn't tell. The picture looked pretty simulare. But that's native.
But 3090 and 6900, the picture in many games was for sure better on the amd.

I have a 3080ti, 6700XT, 4090 in primary systems they all look identical.

I don'thave Assassis Creed, But when you guys tested FSR 3 in Forspoken you could clearly see the lack of details/texture using the 4080 and fsr:

As you can see the 7900xtx doesn't have this issue:
I think you got that backwards. The washed out right side in the first picture is FSR. DLSS is on the left. It says so at the top of the picture.

Edit: nevermind, I got it backwards. You were talking about FSR on 4080.

FSR looks suspiciously washed out on these reviews.

The screen capture i took with fsr 3 quality enabled looks completely different.

I get what you are saying it's more blurred than it should be on the FSR image I can confirm it does not look that blurred on my 4090 the other FSR issues are all still present though.

So why are you are posting a picture that is not representing the quality of FSR? To make DLSS look better than it actually is?
