You know as well as I do that if this was the case AMD marketing would be screaming about it at the top of their lungs.... Buy our gpu's for better image quality except when using FSR that is lol..... smh.
It's possible that it's just the driver that is set to limit color range by default. I've seen people point this out a few times.

So why are you are posting a picture that is not representing the quality of FSR? To make DLSS look better than it actually is?

I'm not the reviewer ask him.

Not sure if it's the site you are using to post images but your's looks terrible as well.

Also nobody is gonna take a random at his word on a forum that he's using identical settings.

It is a hdr image that without my knowledge got converted to sdr on the image hosting site, making it look like shit.

I took a new one, but this time in sdr:

My point was not the color, but the obvious lack of detail and texture in these reviews when showcasing fsr vs dlss.

The most interesting part of these comparisons to me has become watching XeSS improve at such a rapid and consistent pace. It has already leapfrogged FSR by way of offering ~same or better performance at better image quality. Clearly, just being open source/highly compatible, isn't enough of a selling point for FSR. If Intel drop their own FG... oof.

Your screenshot looks pretty oversharpened .. any chance the sharpening post-processing filter is set to 80% (I think that's the game default)

People mistaking absurd amount of sharpening filter with detail are the norm here sadly.
I switched from nvidia to amd because of the rendering quality, seeing these tests makes me believe that nvidia is crippling fsr at driver lever.
Would be interesting seeing if there is in fact a quality difference between nvidia and amd using fsr, also comparing the fsr performance scaling.
I think I got something appropriate for you :)

Nope, it is the default profile. Radeon image sharpening is disabled.

Edit, i see not that you ment in game settings. Yes, it was at the default 80%.
Here is the picture where it is set at 0%:

CPU limited, I guess? There are almost no performance gains even at 4K.

Well, you don't see that the picture of forspoken with fsr 3 enabled in the article is completely lacking ground texture? I was questioning why that is, because it is not normal.

0.8 sharpening filter is the default setting, but i also now uploaded a picture with it disabled.

No, not in my opinion. Show a screenshot of the same scene if you want to make any comparisons.

You must be completely blind then! I don't know where in the game the screenshot was taken, it is also irrelevant.

FYI There is absolutely no difference in FSR quality between GeForce and Radeon GPUs and as long as you don't have a proof for your BS statement, save "you must be blind" comments for yourself :)

I've seen these same FSR issues in every game. XeSS does seem to vary in quality more often.

Normal behavior when cpu limited all 3 have a fixed cost so using them when cpu limited usually has a performance penalty.
Just a tradeoff it seems. FSR doesn't need any special instructions since it just runs on shaders.

XeSS needs some form of support, and just like Nvidia it needs XMX to perform the best.

DLSS is proprietary and works best on Nvidia GPUs with the best tensor cores.

By the way for XeSS, we're getting another hardware with fundamentally different performance levels. On Meteorlake's XeLPG, it doesn't have XMX so it's not up to their dGPUs, but keeps the concurrent FP+Int/EM execution, so it's a faster version of DP4A then on the XeLP of Tiger/Alder/Raptor.

The chromatic aberration in this game is ridiculous. After disabling it with hex editor it's like I'm playing the remastered version of what I was previously playing. I don't know if it's a bug with dlss + other upscaling it doesn't know what to do with chromatic aberration but it is so awful in this game.
