There are no problems with SP4, however there is a procedure to follow for flawless operation:
If starting from SP0, upgrade to SP1 or SP2, then
1. Install WindowsXP-USP4-v3.1b-NODOTNET-x86-ENU.exe and reboot.
2. Install May 2019 update rollup (WindowsXP-SP4EOS-Rollup-v2.exe) and reboot.
3. Install all required .NET Frameworks via Control Panel/Add-rem-Win-Cmpnnts and reboot (1.1 & 3.5 first, reboot and then 4.0 and reboot).
4. Wait for post-install tasks to complete.

Seems very convoluted. No thanks. SP4 was important back when XP was still in common use. That's just not the case anymore. No one needs it. SP3 is optimal.

Watched a hella lot of videos about them earlier this year. And also haven't heard of them before as its an American company.

I saw some back in 2004 when recycling old computers in a tech class lol but never tried turning them on. My teacher even then saw everything as trash! I’d love to have that class in this time of day. Still usable cool stuff out there since it advanced so much and then settled a bit.

For a legitimate non-hobbyist use case? I'd almost bet a fifty the answer is "no", but there's probably someone out there somewhere that relies on software that'll only run on a non-emulated Apple II, or something equally baffling.

I'm 33 so 5.25" floppies were already a thing of the past in the 90s

Not yet at that point. I was an adult and married in the mid 90's. They were still around. Less common, certainly. But if you were born in the 90's then yeah, it's easy to understand why you've never seen one.

Yep. Although in elementary/middle school I still remember having the 3.25” floppy disk at the time being a on the school supply list to save documents But my poor school was definitely behind at the time since usb flash storage was so expensive and they still had old computers in the lab. Shoot I remember being able to buy my own first MP3 player finally as a kid. It was an orange 64 MB RCA lmao. Could hold about 9 songs depending on length and then I bought a 128mb PNY SD Card (which was almost the price of the whole player) to extend that a bit. Sheeeeesh. Now 128gb usb can be had for $10-15.

Actually I used those from time to time even in 2004, but when I got my first mp3-player (Creative MuVo 128MB), I used that as a thumb drive.

If I recall I still had to use floppies few times after that to flash few motherboards' bioses as flashing from bios wasn't a thing, and my drives were in NTFS so DOS couldn't read from them.

Bought that player as a gift to myself when I turned 14, broke within its warranty period so they replaced it with a MuVo TX 256MB

I remember how it sucked to have either fewer better quality tracks or more less-good-quality ones. Good times

Actually I've never used iTunes for nothing else than transferring music to iPhone, I used Winamp for mp3s back in the day and I still do.
