Why should I spend 592 dollars on an Intel CPU when I can spend 369 dollars on an AMD CPU and get a tiny bit better gaming performance?
I never asked you to spent anything. You can buy whatever you want. I wanted the fastest gaming CPU so I got the fastest gaming CPU. The 7800x 3d was a downgrade in both MT and gaming compared to my 12900k.

If you are in the US (since you are using $) the 14700kf is at 390$, so maybe you should buy that and tune it, it's still faster than the 7800x 3d in both games and MT.

Well, if you think you can win this by saying you can overclock the 14900K to get more fps over the 7800X3D, then NEWS@11 for you, but you can overclock the 7800X3D as well.

Οf course you can overclock both, but Intel gets more performance due to higher memory speeds.

The performance you gain by having a little faster memory clocks on the RAM are maybe in the 1-3 fps range after you have come over a certain speed.

Wont help the 14900K in this case anyways as the performance boost on the 7800X3D when overclocked is already pretty noticeable and goes far ahead of the performance boost you get by having a slightly faster RAM.

Then someone must be able to get more fps than a 12900k with a 7800x 3d. I'll be waiting

Doesn't help a 12900K in anything when it's far from beating the gaming champion that is the 7800X3D both stock speed and overclocked.

As I've said, ill be waiting for the evidence on that. It should be easy to come by right? :)

How about you using the evidence that is already presented to you here at TPU?

Didn't we already address that 12 times? TPU is running stock out of the box, so it's irrelevant here.
How is it irrelevant when every other review sites does the same?

Do you think you are some kind of a special person that needs more attention just because you think your overcklocking capabilities are better than others?

Im saying out of the box performance is not the same as overclocked performance.

My overclocking capabilities are horrible, im just saying that when tuned Intel cpus are faster than amd. I mean you have a 7700, go ahead and post a run on TLOU, according to the reviews you should have similar fps. I bet you won't be anywhere near though.

Again, when someone is looking at the performance on a CPU, they will look at the stock performance. The performance we get with overclocking is just a bonus but not the deciding factor on what CPU to get.

No one can rely on the overclocking performance as that can vary A LOT from computer to computer or what motherboard or binned CPU (decides on how much you can overclock it) you have.

I don't know mr someone so I don't care about what he does. You asked me why I didnt buy the fastest gaming CPU since im a gamer and I told you that that's exactly what I did.

I asked why you bought the 14900K for gaming when you could just have saved a buttload of money by going for the 7800X3D with the same performance instead.

Seems like you don't know how to use your money properly for what you are using your computer for.

On stock. When tuned, it is. That's why I bought it. It's not complicated.
Stock is what matters for most.

If you tune the 7800X3D, then it's still faster than the tuned 14900K.

EDIT: The chart from TPU I posted a picture from earlier, shows a score with the 14900K overclocked. A stock 7800X3D is still faster there.

But you asked me, not most. I told you I run tuned, 14900k is the fastest when tuned, so I bought it.

Show me then. From what I've seen a tuned 7800x 3d loses to a tuned 12900k, but if you have some videos showing otherwise go ahead.
I asked you on why you bought the 14900K for gaming when you can buy the 7800X3D for much cheaper and still overclock it and even beat the overclocked 14900K in games.

Both CPUs can be overclocked.

Now. How much FPS do you get in a game you play with stock settings on your CPU and how much FPS do you get with your 14900K overclocked in the same game?

I've already posted a picture of that. Right is stock out of the box. Left is UNDERclocked. With OC I can hit 260 fps. So from 215 stock to 260 tuned. That's a 20% increase.

Sure, it's a good tune. But again, nobody will rely on an overclocked / tuned stat because of how your overclock will differ a lot from other who overclock their CPUs.

Stock stats can be trusted as it don't differ from person to person or from computer to computer with the exact same computer hardware. So that is something that we can rely on.

And, with things like this: https://wccftech.com/intel-core-i9-14900k-posts-9-1-ghz-cpu-frequency-world-record-ddr5-11614/

Are we supposed to care AT ALL about that when it comes to gaming?

I didn't ask you to rely on anything. You asked me why I bought a 14900k, im telling you cause it's the fastest they way I run my CPU.
