I'm not sure how you feel about modding but for me the game was a lot more manageable/tolerable with the Rise of the White Wolf Enhanced Edition mod.
Its mostly quality of life changes and whatnot, the 100% original was a bit too dated mechanics wise for my taste but I really wanted to finish the game for the story/lore since I loved the third game. 'I've also played the serie backwards starting from 3 '

Imo Witcher 2 was alright on its own gameplay wise, the only thing I've used was a ENB/GFX mod.
I'm mostly purist I like stock games (and only do custom patches that fixed gameplay issue and/or fixed graphical issues) but there are exceptions. I'll give the mods a try, thanks for suggesting.

I also don't really do heavy gameplay changing/altering mods but quality of life changes/higher res textures, etc I do like in older games if available.
Do make a backup of your original version saves tho, just in case.:)

My first playthrough of Oblivion and Skyrim were also pretty much stock and then I started to mod the crap out of both. 'Until I've accidentally deleted my entire Skyrim follder and I couldn't be arsed to get back to it since..'

I'm currently enjoying The Witcher, CS:GO, L4D2, and Breaking Point in Arma 3 DayZ. Each one offers a different gaming experience and keeps things exciting.

Have a look at spearhead 1944 for Arma 3, it's very good

pretty much FFX HD Remaster non-stop as I haven't had much work lately, the latest save said 57 hours :D

Mainly focusing on leveling up Kimarhi, Lulu, and Yuna

Tidus annoys me just as much as he did when I was a teenager, but it makes me laugh now so eh. the HD Remaster has some nice quality of life improvements, like letting me shorten Aeon summon times, etc.
its strange how some games look alright at 30 fps, while other games look like complete crap. FFX hasn't bothered me at all with its 30 fps cap, and I am a high refresh snob, indie games get a pass, but FFX is no indie game

It's all* about the frametimes. Older games couldn't hide frametime inconsistency behind a high framerate, so keeping FT stable was pretty important.

*Style of game is important, too. If the camera's not whipping about all the time, a lower framerate is much less noticeable.

Just finished F.E.A.R Extraction Point (PC)

A little more action oriented, and some more "strange" things, very well done.
Good start and good ending, especially when you arrive at the hospital.
I think they could have shaved a pair of hours, some parts in the middle of the game aren't very interesting. (too close from F.E.A.R).
Still fun playing with Slo-Mo shooting everything :)

I've tried playing through The Witcher half dozen times over the past ten years, but never had the strength of will to make it through. I hadn't watched any "let's play' before, but desperation drove me to check out Proper Bird's lorethroughs of Witcher 1. Subsequently watched Witcher 2 lorethrough also, now just waiting on Ghostmode update for Witcher 3 Nextgen (Yes, I'm patient).

Tend to play quite a bit of logistical stuff, currently Euro Truck Sim2 and Endless Sky (love letter to the Escape Velocity series of the 90's).

Gonna give CP77 DLC a couple more months to bake before buying, likewise Starfield.

Maybe a graphic update, for a mere 23 fps with a top processor and GC, all frame generation included ... like the news AAA games theses days ?

Just finished the Italian Campaign in COH3 and it is not bad as a CIv 6/COH clone. Some of the mechanics are great but the Game feels easy to win RTS battles. I have another Campaign I can do but since FM8 no longer crashes I have been enjoying Racing in that Game. Sometimes I can't get over how it feels like Grid.

That meme is totally me!

My list of games to play is so long relative to the time I have to play them, that by the time I get to playing a game, I've probably upgraded my hardware 2-3 times already. :D :(

Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharaoh

... nobody?

Typically I'd be thrilled to check this sort of announcement out. At first glance it appears to satisfy every precondition of a modern game release that is complained about.

Sorry to say my first thought was The Adventures of Tintin on Wii from 2011 - that is a console known for smooth gameplay at cost of graphical output - might've been visually developed beyond a late 2023 PC game calling for reasonable amount of modern processing and gpu power.
