LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling its latest LG SMART Monitor lineup (models 32SR50F and 27SR50F). The versatile, new 31.5- and 27-inch monitors don't require any PC connection at all, and are ideal for productivity. Along with advanced IPS displays that deliver true-to-life colors and strong contrast, LG SMART Monitors feature LG's webOS 23 platform, which provides more convenience for working remotely as well as streaming favorite shows, sports and music.

Great for entertainment and getting work done, LG SMART Monitors boast high-performance IPS displays and HDR 10 support. The vibrant, accurate images produced by the new monitors help bring content to life and also enhance the user's experience when participating in conference calls, working on documents or researching on the Internet. With its 3-sided virtually borderless design, the 27-inch model presents a sleek, minimalist look that can elevate one's space and boost the sense of immersion.

Equipped with webOS 23, the latest LG SMART Monitors offer outstanding convenience. The 32SR50F and 27SR50F provide easy access to streaming apps which offer tailored recommendations for movies, series and music from the Home Board screen, and personalized sports profiles - complete with customizable sports service cards - that make it simple for users to keep up with the sports they love. LG SMART Monitors store the user's favorite leagues and teams, notify them of upcoming games and provide up-to-date schedules and key statistics. Also included is the LG Mood Music function, which serves as a personal DJ; curating playlists based on the user's musical preferences.

Handy solutions for those working from home, the monitors come with built-in LG Home Office software that supports various productivity programs including Microsoft 365 and Google Calendar. LG SMART Monitors help further enhance workflow and remove the need to connect directly to a PC by allowing users to easily share content from their smart devices via AirPlay 2 and Miracast. The new monitors can even function as smart home hubs, with support for LG's ThinQ Home Hub making it possible for users to monitor and manage their home appliances. Through the ThinQ app, the 32SR50F and 27SR50F are able to connect with various IoT-compatible household appliances, such as refrigerators and washing machines.

"The LG SMART Monitor series is designed with a focus on meeting the personal preferences and unique demands of various kinds of users," said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. "Moving forward, LG plans to introduce new SMART Monitors that will be able to accommodate an even broader range of lifestyle needs."

The new LG SMART Monitors are scheduled to be released in key markets in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, with availability starting in the U.S. this November.

No thanks, avoiding any smart displays like a plague. These seem to bottom of barrel 1080 panels being slapped with smart features to be sold at premium prices.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
If you've ever tried to browse the web using the built-in browser on an LG TV, you'll swear never to use "smart" TV browsers ever again.

Browser security updates, feature support, plugins, privacy features, cookie management, and troubleshooting options are all non-existent. They not secure or good to use at launch and they're in a much less appealing state when support is dropped after 2-ish years.

I purchased an LG Smart TV earlier this year. The picture quality of the TV is great and it had a pretty good price for its size.

What's been extremely disappointing is the smart experience. LG puts Ads yes you are reading that right ADVERTISEMENTS on the smart home screen that cannot be removed. They also put apps on the home screen that cannot be removed.

A coworker of mine with a Samsung smart tv doesn't have these issues.

LG ransoms you with their ToS (sell your data).
Smart TVs don't get full feature sets or receive updates unless you accept them.

Don't buy these.

I bought a 32" Samsung M7 "Smart Monitor" off Ebay to use as a TV and for that it is actually really good. 4K might not be really anything you can see at such a small size from so far away but its still nice to have and the auto-source switch is really nice too, goes well with my hacked together dumpster dive 4K Blu Ray-player haha. All that is to say: someone will find a use for these ones from LG too, I bet.

Huh? That must be some weird Norwegian thing then, as it's free in Sweden and even works with Google Home.

That part annoys me, why have a feature you can't use? Then disable the button on the remote.
I haven't had any ads beyond on the home screen for other channels/apps.

So much hatred in the world...
Hating definitively evil mega-corporations who have their malicious tentacles in nearly all things digital is something worthy of scorn now?

Get a grip. Like the AT&T of old Google should be broken up into 100 pieces - and that's just for starters.

You there. I have no idea who you are but I like you. Not 100% as you use Apple and Spyify but I'd say... 67%. That's still a high score.

Yep, and there's more coming from me.
Though... I wouldn't define my feeling as hate, more like disgust.

To each their own. What did Snodden reveal? That it doesn't matter. There is no such thing as privacy anymore. We decided that we want the Internet 24/7 and now even TV has moved to the net so combined with the breaches (that actually have their own thread) we should all be using hard wallets but who has the time to go through those hoops.

My mother taught me to never use the word hate to describe anything as when you go to sleep at night you don't think about the things you can't control.

The guy or gal pretending to not be defending the top tier monopoly known as Google that currently has a stranglehold on information defends that top tier monopoly with absurd FUD

Wow to take I don't hate anything to me supporting ardently Google is funny.

I know it seems hard to believe that politics has something to do with AT&T but you should also look at what else happened during the Reagan Administration. Do you know why you can say whatever you want Online but not in the Newspaper without using the word Editorial? I have been alive long enough to know the answer. It is also why the EU was created but I am just lying.

Yes, let's see what the "google approved" articles have to say about how bad the corporate controlled media - that google controls - thinks of how awful and horrible and disgraceful the breakup of the previous strangler of information - AT&T - has had on society.

Wait, I will lose my job for mentioning this. Nevermind: All hail google. GOOGLE IS GREAT!

Meet the new boss, so different from the old boss.

Software 10 LTSC
I am not defending Google but I do use TPU and Game on Steam. With that alone I am exposed to the Internet. Who turns off their Internet these days and most Modern MBs come with WIFI.
I turn off at night but not because of tinfoil hat kind of stuff but due to power surges lol.
Still, everything goes dark at night, the enviromentalists will cheer me because I'm saving power, if you consider the 3 watts a modem uses actual power... welp

Mobo manufacturers started adding random bullshit to boards in order to justify price increases, then proceeded to gaslight "gamers" into believing Wi-Fi is unironically good and not a mess of a technology full of performance AND security flaws, heh whatever floats their boat I guess... wired FTW. In case of emergency simply pull the wire out. Wireless there's no way to fully disable unless you exclusively use nuggets you can pull out at any time, which isn't the case with gaming stuff, internet of bullshit appliances and the subject of this topic.... TVs, well, monitors, or screens in general.
Betcha there's no way to fully get rid of the Wi-Fi and 'smart' stuff without rendering the display useless, the fact a whole OS is needed just for it to work tells me that, no simple underlying firm on a ROM like in the old days, soft errors? override it or replace it, not like there was a lot to do when it came to soft other than electronic settings control... you know, as opposed to turning knobs or sliding in your favourite loooooooong flat head screwdriver through the back to blindly turn pots, but that's obscure knowledge ~ could go back a little more... valves anyone? you don't like the image? SHAME that's all you get lol

As for the other comment.... "superstonk", kek. Sure the text is fine but I can't take the cesspool that's reddit seriously.
