PNY announced the addition of the CS3150 M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 5 x4 SSD with integrated heatsinks to its lineup of solid-state drives. The CS3150 is at the forefront of cutting-edge storage, leveraging the NVMe PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface to deliver unrivaled data transfer speeds. Innovative Heatsink
The CS3150 at launch will be available in 1 TB and 2 TB densities and will come integrated with one of three different dual-fan heatsinks - Black, White, or Black-RGB. These revolutionary heatsinks have an innovative design with not one but two ultra-quiet fans to maximize heat dissipation generated by highly intensive applications, prolonged workloads, and lightning-fast transfer speeds.



Enhanced Gameplay with XLR8 Gaming
PNY's CS3150 takes full advantage of Microsoft DirectStorage, a revolutionary feature that was introduced in Windows 11 that improves both the speed at which games load and the quality of their images. I had the previous gen4 pny branded drive and something was just off about it's performance compared to my other nvme drives.

I hope they fixed whatever was causing that with this release.

Last time I checked (~.3287ns ago) 14,500/13,500MB/s was/is considered as "breakthrough" & "unprecedented" levels with the current drive tech, hehehe :)

And at those prices, does anyone REALLY G.a.F anyways ?

The fans reminds me of the little chipset or video card coolers from the '90s.
They were extremely bad then, probably nothing changed now.

In the AM3+ day I used those tiny 40x40mm fans for the VRM and Northbridge, since it was a bit hot(70C+). But at low rpm they were useless and at high rpm it was loud af.

Motherboard manufacturers could replace the alu m.2 heatsink with something like this

Gigabyte already offers decent sized heatsinks for M.2 slot thats connected to CPU(Primary slot) on most of their Aorus line of motherboards. Even MSI and Asrock in last year or so have improved M.2 heatsinks on their primary slots.

Looks cute though.
That's because usually they are high rpm. Maybe two of them could spin at a lower speed for same effect though. The idea isn't entirely bad. We have to see how they implement it though.
