So my son got all the components and we got his new PC all together. Big issue. This is my first build out of more than 20 that didnt start up and go into the BIOS first push of power switch. Gets stuck on boot at white light on mobo that indicates VGA error. No video signal.
Card is a MSI RTX 3070 Ventus (waiting on a 4070Ti). Tried a GTX1070. No video and wont enter BIOS. No beeps on PC speaker. Re-seated memory, checked every power cable connection, re-seated video card. Both video cards test good prior to and after.
When first inspecting CPU socket on mobo and prior to installing CPU, one pin in the socket had a shine to it more than any others. I took a close up picture of the area with my cell phone, but they all looked good.
Pump/rez combo is a Alphacool Eisbecher Aurora D5 Acetal/Glas – 150mm with D5 VPP655 PWM Pump. When powering up PC, all fans and pump start up at full speed initially, but then rpm's drop. Fans stay running but pump stops. Could this possibly be a PSU issue? Or is that what to expect from the pump being it isnt getting full power? Pump is powerd by a molex and sensor wire on Chass. #3 Fan header. Fans are on the CPU header.
Could this be a CPU contact pressure issue? It is very difficult to evenly tighten the EK waterblock retention bolts due to mobo VRM cooler. I have to remove VRM heatsink to mount a f'n, EK waterblock? Hey Eddie, how about some screw driver friendly retention nuts? Thumb nuts are nice. But so is the option of using a tool.
His System Specs: (all components brand new other than video cards we tried)
MOBO: Asus Strix Z790-H
CPU: i7-14700KF (Thermaright Contact Plate)
MEM: GSKILL TridentZ5 (F5-6400J3239G16QX2-TZ5RK)
PSU: Seasonic Focus 1000w
M.2 is in Slot 1, no other drives connected
Any ideas?
