The Lexar NM790 2 TB offers fantastic performance at outstanding pricing. The 2 TB model sells for just $110, which makes it the most affordable high-end SSD available. Real-life performance results are even better than the 4 TB version, which helps make up ground against the PCIe 5.0 competition.

"The surface temperature of the drive reached 88°C, which is around 10°C higher than the software sensor readings."

In hot countries, and outside an artificially controlled environment, it should reach almost 100° C. :')

So glad to see the review of this guy on here. Was wondering when are you going to review it. I have been eyeing it for a week or two now and have finally pulled the trigger and ordered the 4 TB drive for 200€ here in Germany even before your review.
I have seen the review elsewhere but your review puts it in an even better light than the other reviews.

Another DRAM-less junk...

Oh wait, it's actually an amazing and affordable SSD for home usage! My friend bought one two months ago, I'm planning on picking one up at some point as well. :)

News flash for you two: DRAMless does NOT mean worthless or "junk"! I have several DRAMless SSD's and they work fine. Writing large amounts of data can take a while, but that is very infrequent. Minor annoyance at best. This particular drive's performance is the best I've ever seen for a DRAMless SSD.

@lexluthermiester
Did you even read the entire post you quoted?

There was a dude who always posted "Another DRAM-less junk" on every review.
Using humor on the internet is so painful, even if you include 10 emotes some people will still take everything seriously. :(

The problem is that some people will read that first sentence and stop reading beyond your first sentence. I was simply addressing that for the lazy readers. You know people are going to whine and take things out of context. Not disagreeing with you about conversations on the internet. It's a sad reality we live in.

Managed to grab one for about $80 including Polish taxes, which is a really great price.

I'll probably only use this one for games. I'll use my old Corsair for data files, which means that for the first time the only thing I'll keep on HDDs is video files. :clap:

2 TB, of course, that's why it's a great price. Normally it goes for about $94 over here.

My friend got it even $5 cheaper back in September.

The 1 TB normally goes for about $55, but you can find a better deal from time to time.

Your 4K results seem worse than mine (WD Black SN850 1TB), I am worried if this would be a downgrade if I chose to get an NM790 2TB.
I am also considering Kingston KC3000, and I could also get a Crucial T500 but there are none to buy in my country.

@Lesha
That was a 64 GB benchmark (10 GB in AS SSD). 1 GB benchmark screenshots below (I think these are less realistic). Could be a platform difference as well?

You're welcome! Speaking from experience, the difference of speed between them is not something you will notice at all.

Even Amazon & Ebay?
Local brick and Mortar shops and Newegg.
