I see, but I can't wait 1 month the idiots from the retailer RMA service to claim it as a defect, and return a new one.
They could have just sent me a new one, and do whatever they want with the old broken, meanwhile. :kookoo:
Yeah that's not the best customer service, but retailer's fault

It was my primary SSD with Windows on it. :banghead:
At least you have a clean OS now :)

This ssd have two temperature sensors, one are reporting higher than others. According to this review & AIDA64 reporting...

And I believe it got different thresholds for temperature sensor 1...

So I believe that temperature sensor 2 got the max safe temp. limit of 75c as Lexar says on Spec. on there own website while for temperature sensor 1 Lexar didn't mentioned or say anything about it but according to AIDA64 got different max safe temps. going for 95c & 115c.

This kind of thermal management also found it on SK Hynix Gold P31 SSD too where it also reports 2 different temp sensors. Usually other SSDs only reports 1 temp sensor (I guess cheap SSDs maybe?). For example Micron 2400 SSD that I have only reports 1 temp sensor. I am pretty sure Micron 2400 SSD it's low end cheap SSD.

That explains when you open CrystalDiskInfo... it only shows 1 of them [which is the higher ones] and skips the 2nd temp sensor... so don't panic when you open CrystalDiskInfo and tells you your SSD is hot bec. it's currently not true at all.

Same thing for SK Hynix Gold P31 SSD was happening because I owned one before replacing it with Lexar nm790.
Just providing update from the quote post above...
Almost after 5 months of using it with main OS + everything else... like showing no mercy on this SSD :rockout:... idk maybe my use case isn't hardcore enough but still going strong & cool :) screenshot taken while Windows update working on the background.

Finally, received the replaced Lexar. 6 days later. Last Sunday I lost the drive, this Saturday I got the replaced one.
At least, this time the package contains that tiny M.2 screw...

So bad, that I will never order ever again from them.
I have just ordered Silicon Power XS70, and it will be the replacement.

As I said, the replaced Lexar will go into the second slot for data/backup.

About three weeks ago I purchased a Lexar NM790 1 TB, but I wasn't able to determine the NAND chip type, because maxio_nvme_fid-0.36a was giving me this:
Code:
v0.36a
OS: 10.0 build 26100
Drive : 1(NVME)
Scsi : 1
Driver : W10

I had 30% less RND4K Q32T16 values compared to a NM790 1TB drive with YMTC-3dv4-232L (X3-9070) chip! I was expecting that the BoM will be changed, but not this soon.

With Maxio NVME SSD id v0.34a I have this report:
Code:
v0.34a

Could be true? Micron???
And I have a less common firmware and a HMB size of 40M instead of 32M.
