Hello! A month ago I bought a Sapphire Nitro+ Rx580 8Gb from aliexpress, since it came in ok condition and hasn't really gave any problems at all, I started searching for them.

The GPU-Z utility says it has this BIOS https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/215896/215896 , and its bugging me that its not verified, the BIOS swich also doesnt seem to do anything at all, and trying to flash the BIOS with the flash utility gives a mismatched device error with all of the available verified BIOS in https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios...00000&interface=&memType=&memSize=8192&since=

I haven't disassembled the card but I managed to snap a few pictures of some of the identifiers of the board so I will include them, i supect the stickers are fake since searching for the SKU and PN number in the sapphire webpage returns nothing not even something similar, today I realized I can actually force the BIOS flashing BUT I believe it's better I ask for help before I damage the card since I can't afford to brick this card. I will also include the extracted BIOS.
Also, for what I researched the board ID's seem suspiciously similar to those of a Rx 590 ( https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/217659/sapphire-rx590-8192-190609 ).
Some other oddities: The Trixx software lets me load a "power" mode that gets the card to 1425 MHz from 1411 I believe, but it doesn't save that OC between restarts and sometimes between different games, idk if this is a bug from the software or it's indicative of something.
Trying to overclock with Adrenalin fails in different ways but it always fails.

Thanks and sorry if my writing is bad, im VERY sleep deprived.

Unverified says nothing since it is not verified by techpowerup. It still can be the correct bios.

But I noticed a couple of things:
  1. Part number doesnt seems to exist 219-DE327-0021DD.
  2. SKU 1421-02 belongs to RX580 4GB
  3. SKU 1421-02 doesnt have Special Edition cooler
  4. Typo in the product name (NTRO+ instead of Nitro)
  5. Sapphire RX 580 SE uses K4G80325FB. Your card uses K4G80325FC
Maybe it is wise to remove the cooler to confirm which memory is on the PCB.

It maybe a RX480 or RX470 that's been frigged with specially if you bought it from Aliexpress which is one of the worst places to buy GPU's from
If you can't get your money back you may just have to wear it as an educational exercise

Also those QR codes don't work they should lead you to a Sapphire webpage for your GPU but neither seem to want to scan

I didn't knew that it could be legit but unverified!
So the curiosity got the best of me and decided to disassemble the card, the cooler its in no way the original one, it had a sticker on the inside but its a bit damaged.
The memory it's as the software reports K4G80325FC-HC25 and the chip has an identifier 215-0910038 which is the Rx 580 chip https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/sapphire-nitro-rx-580-8-gb.b4436 so I think it should be an authentic card right?

Yeah, I took the risk since it was cheaper than eBay or any reseller in my country, the shroud looks nice tbh the only bad thing is that the fan lights do not turn off :(, the Qr codes dont take you to any webpages, they are kind of serial numbers.
It also games well enough for the games I play and doesnt get hot at all, now since I changed the thermalpaste today I have to see if everything is ok with the temps.

Card could be repaired indeed. Wrong cooler installed as well. Your card could also be a RX 590 GME which is only released in China (RX 590 GME = RX 580).

Performance bios (Switch set to left (towards PCI-E 8pin power)):

Silent bios (Switch set to right (torwards bracket)):

Before flashing both bioses, please validate if the first bios flash was succesfull before proceeding with the second bios.

Yup! It worked with the Performance BIOS, I will test the games I play and wait a few days to flash the silent BIOS.
Thank you very much!!!

No, I don't think so. I don't think someone would spend the time and money and glue it down so well if it was just a repair job. Repair jobs are usually cheap with minimal profit margin.

I think the manufacturer glued those specific chips because they are closer to the core, closer to a cluster of heatsink mounting holes, and/or near the PCI-E slot. Those are all sources of mechanical or thermal expansion stress, and they probably glue those specific chips in order to reduce solder cracking failure rates. That is something which costs a little extra and takes a little more time, and is the type of thing only a manufacturer who is worried about a product warranty and reputation would care about.
