flow is 139.5L/PH now. Still think i might look at another block. theis core 1 was worth a try, but not a fan of the seal setup with the flat piece of rubber.

It's in storage now and I use mostly my z490 also single d5 but it's only on my gpu with a single rad.

Found my ek gpu water block images to wasn't it you that showed an old ek block ?

This is why I use Alphacool Quick connects and only Copper parts at all times. I don't even like to use nickel plated blocks either.

To be fair, my EK GPU block has been in the loop for nearly 2 years and was a little dirty that's all, the nickel coating was fine. As you can see, my CPU block is copper.

I do have a tested fail safe on my loop connected to the high flow next, if the flow goes to zero, or water temp goes over 60c it activats the power switch and turns it off.

Support can certainly send you a new one. But as the seal is very thin, it will generally be difficult to insert it cleanly.

That is intentional, this rubber insert ensures that 100% of the water is channelled through the centre. It should seal everything around it at this point. We will switch to this technology for all coolers because it simply delivers more performance.

I understand the reason but it is pretty fiddly keeping it in place while trying to get the block together. It does seem like it streched or expanded a bit so seems a bit bigger than the position it fits into. Maybe a thin metal strip with a fixed on rubber piece might work better, dunno?

Ek also has issues with leaching rubber o-rings on gpu blocks Plexi tops make it easy to spot so just an added frustration with flow issues arise.

Get QDC's so you don't have to drain your system to do maintenance on the cpu block.

I think i might well get some. I'm guessing it's not the first time i will have to do this.

Basically, my process was
Isolate the GPU block, so pump/res-GPU block-pump/res, looked at flow, was fine.
Isolate CPU block, so pump/res-CPU block-pump/res, water flow was a trickle.

I do look after my loop so do not know wher the black stuff came from, and as my parts apart from the CPU block are all a fiar age now, couldn't figure out where the black stuff came from. Well i will keep an eye on the flow rate now, and as soon as it starts to drastically drop, i will investigate what is going on. If it had dropped to zero my PC would have shut down. Makes sense to have some safety if you run a loop.

Is it PTFE, EPDM, or perhaps something like fuel hose rubber such as CRP or NBR.

All these different types of rubbers are less prone to leech and swelling.

Get a couple more pairs of qdc's for your pump/ reservoir
This is so you can prime your cpu block after you disconnect it and clean it
Helps to limit how much air goes into the system otherwise you still need to get the added air out.

Save time bottom line.
I love qdc's I use the black koolance qd3 but alphacool has some to as mentioned

The Koolance QD3's are fantastic. I use them at home and on several more industrial-level work projects. I also use Koolance 702 clear coolant for a lot of stuff. It easily goes 2-3 years without even so much as a concern. I had some bad luck with EK Cryofuel gumming things up in my home rig, but cleaned out my system and swapped to the 702 stuff I had been using at work and it's been great.

Yeah ek fluid wow brings bad nightmares of that crap for myself I fell for that crap when they first put it out ouch biggest single mistake in my life was using that stuff lost a lot of hair over clogging cpu blocks and even gpu blocks acid green especially was bad :banghead:

EK reps disappeared on OCN after reports started coming in lol didn't see ek reps reappear until the magnitude released that's a couple years :laugh:

It was very difficult to get it back in the right place, then how do you know if it is once it is together. It was longer than the place it fits into, so what, does it just squash into place. Imo it is not the best bit about the good block. It kinda feels like the stuff cycle inner tubes are made from.
