Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2's Third Clan Revealed

Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have announced that the Banu Haqim are a playable clan in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Focusing on stalking, assassination, and outmaneuvering enemies, the Banu Haqim specialize in combat from the shadows with unseen maneuvers and silent takedowns. Known for keeping their bloodlust in check, the Banu Haqim are fiercely devoted to upholding a moral code, dealing with threats, and handing out consequences. They lurk in the shadows, using their vampiric Disciplines to hunt and remain hidden, dealing swift and precise strikes to enforce their sense of justice.

What can you expect from playing a Banu Haqim?
Banu Haqim takes the role of a strategic stalker, using shadows to their advantage. You are a predator on a hunt, and your discipline powers focus on stalking, assassination, and silently moving faster than your foes can track.

Bloodlines 2 features lead protagonist Phyre, an Elder Kindred Embraced during the early 17th Century. Players choose from four playable clans, including the Banu Haqim, rebellious Brujah, and blood sorcery masters Tremere, with the last playable clan being unveiled in December 2023. Details on each clan and their respective Disciplines will be available in 2024, starting with a gameplay reveal in January.

Bloodlines 2 is the successor to the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. The game takes players to the dark underbelly of Seattle, where vampires struggle for survival and supremacy. Paradox really are going full sunken cost, huh. The game should have really been cancelled after Hardsuit’s version was thrown out. I mean, this one doesn’t have any of the people who even originally pitched the project onboard anymore. No Mitsoda, no Avellone, no Clooney. Rik Schaffer also confirmed that he is no longer doing the OST. So what even is the point? It’s a shambling mess of a game, essentially a Frankenstein monster of old assets made by Hardsuit, new story created from scratch by some new devs at Chinese Room (which is not even the old Chinese Room, but a new studio essentially) and bizarre attempts to tie it into some YouTube LARP (really).
It should have stayed dead is what I’m saying. It absolutely will not live up to the original and I will be surprised if even on its own merits it won’t end up a complete train-wreck.

every game has its critics and its fanbois. Given gamings, as a whole, history, it wont be worth playing out of the box, it will be as bad as CP2077. Expect enough bugs that will make it unplayable so your expectations are low enough not to cry.

I'll be happy if it comes out at all. I mean, we had this 4 years ago:

And that was pre-alpha before they dropped the entire dev team in 2021. It's almost 2024 and this "post-alpha" can't even do the lipsync right.

I loved the original, as well as VTM: Redemption, both of which I played through with my brother back when they released. Bloodlines 1 was buggy AF upon release.

I'd love a true sequel to VTMB, but I'll be very surprised if this is it. The player character in the original has no name, and doesn't need one. Selecting such a stupid name for this game is yet another indicator that it will be a huge disappointment.
