Seriously though. Telecom out there is god awful. Small towns with a lot of problems.

A firewall woth a public IP I manage has been getting hit by floods from Russia, Asia, and some eastern bloc countries. All on Starlink. Once I added rules to discard all from whole areas it took over 3 days for most connections to drop off but there is a few that remain 1K+ per second. You think a backbone provided would kick abusive connections.....

If you look at the fiber map of the United States, you'd notice that there's heavy amounts of fiber connections crisscrossing up and down the eastern seaboard and into the Midwest into areas like Chicago and whatnot but as soon as you move into the plain's states, forget it. Sure, you might have a few major fiber routes going through Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, etc. but they're nothing like the major fiber trunk lines that go through states like Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York. Plainly put, the bandwidth is just not there out there in the plains states and I highly doubt that major telecoms will do anything about it.
