Nah, it's 2x 24 GB modules = 48 GB in total. The only OC I have on it is its default EXPO profile with VSoC at 1.2 V.

I'll have a check with memtest just in case, but it has worked for a long time, only started having this issue recently, so I don't think it'll give me anything. It's also rock stable in stability tests, like 30-min Cinebench runs or the 3DMark stability tests. This is why I'm thinking it's a software issue, but there's literally nothing in the event viewer.

Check for errors with memtest. It is not the OC only but sometimes the modules are bad and have errors which may cause resets and blue-screens. Not likely but it can happen. I had that one and had to replace the modules.

Though I don't think it'll give me anything. I've had these modules since July, and only started having this problem in the last few weeks or so.

I have noticed some strange behaviour since the latest Chipset update. My 7900X3D shows that the power is 134 Watts in HWinfo with 1.385 Vcore. That has risen from a max of 105 with 1.30 Vcore. When I load up TWWH3 the overlay shows that the CPU loads the Game with 100% CPU usage. Before it was like 50%. It seems AMD has reset the power profiles for the X3D. I actually got a report in HWinfo of 124 C on the first CCD. I also installed the latest GPU driver. I am not sure if that is also doing things but I have to reset my OC.

That's very strange! Are you suspecting that the new chipset driver isn't up to standard?

Or maybe a new Windows install is really imminent. Maybe the remains of the old driver are in conflict with the new one.

I am not sure could be that the launch of the 14th Gen that AMD turns up the performance to allow for better Benchmark numbers. Of course that is just my opinion.

I don't see any change on my system apart from the above mentioned issues. Also, the latest Windows 10 chipset driver is about 3 months old.

I though the X3d chips are very restrictive with voltage. Are you sure it is not a misread voltage number in the app? how about bios voltage? You got it set to auto or maybe you have put some manual OC?

I just let the CPU do it's thing. The only thing I do in the BIOS is enable EXPO and Rebar. I do download every new chipset and I use my system everyday. I use HWinfo64 to monitor everything and AMD overlay to see the numbers in real time. I don't really mind at all though as it makes the PC feel snappier.

I don't do any manual tweaking. I only enable EXPO and call it a day. I know it affects the SoC voltage, but as long as it's a comfortable 1.2 V, it shouldn't be a problem (theoretically).

Edit: I've just updated to the latest BIOS as it said "improve memory compatibility" in the release notes. Now it defaults to 1.3 V SoC with EXPO on, but interestingly, the CPU runs a couple degrees cooler than it did before. We'll see if it does anything else. I forgot to let Memtest running overnight, but I'll try not to forget today.

I just connected my monitors to the iGPU because I had a hunch that idle power consumption would be lower... which it is!

18 Watts while watching Youtube on a 3440x1440, 144 Hz ultrawide is something I didn't think was possible on RDNA 3.

But... when I load up a game, power consumption, or power reporting goes cuckoo. Weird fluctuations between 130-320 Watts even though the card comes with a 246 W default power limit. Oddly enough, clocks are stable and so is game performance, so I have no idea what's going on.

Got my Hellhound 7900XTX last week. Here is my “club membership application” if there is such a thing.
Figured out I should have read this whole thread first … I would have avoided some instability from manual virtual memory settings.
Srsly though, why game programmers use pagefile if there is enough memory??

Anyone else tryit playing Elden Ring with flawless widescreen or unlocked framerate ? if i run the game fullscreen exclusive which required for HDR then i get driver time outs, altho game says fullscreen not fullscreen exclusive so i suspect AMD is forcing it into exclusive state which does not work with DX12 does not support this state, hench the driver time outs probably.
I know more users had this issue as well can play hours no issues on borderless.

So I took the advice given here and repasted my 7900XTX Powercolor Liquid Devil. At first blush the temperatures are better. I ended up using Kryonaut Extreme because I had some already. We will see how things stabilise. Hopefully for the better.

There was a bit of drama when I had a pipe blowout while running the pumps at full speed to clear air pockets. An hour job to drain the loop and repaste took upwards of 3 hours for the cleanup. Luckily the water shot out of the case not into it!

I've gotta wait till the warranty on my MERC310 expires before I'd get the chance or allow myself to explore trying out, perhaps Kryonaut, on my card. Reason being, warranty in my neck of the woods is pretty strict, if my card dies due to thermal paste change or any other mod, the local distributer would not honor the warranty as I'd voided it by messing with the card.

Since my Nitro+ RX 6900 XT is already off warranty, I might start messing or modding it....

Alright. Turns out that undervolting wasn't the issue, but some settings on the game itself? Why the heck would Phasmophobia crash on my 7900XTX due to some shadows settings?

I bought the Hellhound 7800XT back in September. It's everything the reviews said it would be. Noticed in titles that have launched after it did, that it edges out the 6900XT frequently. Just mentioning it since I see comments here and there around the web still repeating the "no performance uplift from the 6800XT" conclusion derived from day one reviews. IMO for $500, it did indeed move the needle in bang for buck. I think its popularity speaks to that.

Considering that I paid almost the same for my 6750 XT, and my 5700 XT before that (which I sold for a profit thanks to the crypto boom, and bought a 2070 instead), I think it's the best bargain on the GPU market right now.

After months, I can contribute, that Kryosheet is the way for tiled and uneven 7900 surface. I have no temperature degradation and my hotspots are 60-70C max under heavy loads (40-50C for the core)

I am on 23.30.13.05, dual montor albeit both are low refresh, currently I am just coding and compiling like mad, no need for anything else. It is bumbling around 10-20W.

I haven't yet, but raising the power limit alone gives my card roughly +100 MHz on average.
