Applied Thermal Paste Without wiping the other one!

So guys

I've sent the pc to the service to change the position of my cooler, but around six days ago i applied some thermal paste hydronaut on the cpu and I've sent to him today to change the position of the AIO and he applied some cheap thermal paste without wiping the hydronaut which was applied 6 days ago!

Now I'm kinda paranoid because i keep reading shit that it's not good to mix thermal pastes and I wanted to ask you guys what could happen? I did a benchmark test with Cinebench enabling PBO and the temps now are higher 3 celsius then three four days ago? Is this bad? Can I at least go with this mixed paste for couple of days or maybe like three weeks until the one that I ordered arrives? MY CPU IS BRAND NEW BTW and I don't want to mess it up! The temps seems fine so far in idle around 33 which is like 3 celsius more as well!

Please let me know so i'll feel lighter and not paranoid, if this is some serious stuff for my cpu i ll better just shut the pc down and wait until the paste arrives!

Thank you.

It won’t hurt anything, but the rule of thumb is to replace the paste completely if the cooler is removed for any reason. The guy who decided to put more paste on top of existing one without removing the previous one is an absolute buffoon though and should not be in the PC building business.
Just run a thermal test and if the CPU has normal-ish temps you are in no trouble. You can’t kill a modern CPU with temps anyway, they would just throttle. You’d need to do something really out there to “mess it up”.

Okay? Again, it isn’t going to just magically die because of the paste. This isn’t how any of this works. If it isn’t reaching unreasonable temps in your workload of choice then it definitely won’t implode until you can remove the cooler and replace the paste again.

Sorry bro don't get mad... I'm just a Newbie that's why I asked and I said r9 5950x because I don't know if that is considered a "modern cpu" I guess it is

Not mad, just slightly confused is all. And by “modern” we nowadays mean anything since like… 2000-ish. The last time I can recall CPUs frying themselves was an issue was in early P4 era. A previous gen CPU is definitely in no danger of doing that.

I have a 5950X with a 4090 , but play at 4K , getting a good seat ,sometimes takes few times , that's how it was for me , benchmarks and temps logs help me, almost three years with my 5950X , I know my system , got it down to a point , modern cpu for me .
Give Benchmate a go .

Only harm is higher temps really
Yep I started to see it now, it used to stay with the old paste round 28C idle now it stays 45 lol 46, when i played dota with the old expensive paste it was 41C now its 58 so it's like 15C higher, shitty paste soon my new paste will come and i will repaste it.
